@inoyourider - "As a professional broadcaster with dozens of credits..." This is precisely the point. As someone who has been paid money (rewarded) for their work, one begins to get the idea that the principles that you have followed are somehow the "correct" ones, but this builds a box around you and limits your creativity.
It's a wonderful interview... Terry is so open and honest, admittedly the interviewer is a little ropey but the questions are great... hey if I was chatting to Terry at his age I'd be nervious as hell... well done 10/10
Despite the critics below who berate the interviewer for being unprofessional, I think the laid back attitude of the young man interviewing allowed Terry to open up and say some genuinely interesting things about the industry. A "professional" youtube interviewer would have probably tried to steer Terry too much and ask uninteresting and unoriginal questions... Just let Terry hang out draw and chat for Christs sake! Cool of Terry to do this... He F@$king rocks!
What a wonderful person Gilliam is to come out and talk to these kids who are genuinely interested in films and really want to hear what he has to say. It looks as if he enjoyed drawing all over the set and chairs while discussing. DRMOONRAT is right-- Gilliam does seem like a teacher in this interview. Good fun and his dual honesty about the business and his natural joy are refreshing.
To add, even David Lynch has said that finding joy every day is what keeps him going with his films. Looking at Gilliam, he seems to embody this ideal himself in his own way.
This is a fantastic interveiw. These teens are actually listening to him and learning rather than mainstream media that just wants an interview. It's like Terry is a sort of teacher in this interview. And that set it a very important work of art now. I hope they didn't just rip it down and through it away.
thijsmolenaar guy is a prat - he clearly doesn't realise that this film was made by 16-18 year olds on some course at the roundhouse in London. Full respect for gilliam for doing it and maximum credit to those kids for being so creative. what a plonker.
As a professional broadcaster with dozens of credits the quality of this interview is AWFUL. Its a shame you were able to get good talent but have absolutely NO idea what the hell you're doing. This makes cable access look Oscar-worthy.
Ah, I guess I had thought you were basing your comment on the loose interview style and not the technical production quality.

@Zorniod
You're confused.
Creativity ≠ production quality.
Talent like Terry Gilliam deserves the effort to make a technically sound production.

This is pretty good. I love the idea decorating the surroundings so Gilliam can do his unique decorating.
