  • Loving the suggested actors. Though you're never going to get anyone better than Gabrielle Drake as Gay Ellis!

  • @joker7053 You did? I loved that show, and these days I have the entire show on DVD!

  • @joker7053 I liked the revamps of Gone in 60 Seconds, The A-Team, Ocean's 11 and Mission Impossible to name a few, and I reckon that from what I've heard so far, we could be in for a treat with UFO 2013. By the way, what sort of thing did you work on for the original?

  • Not a BAD idea dude!!!!!! Rock On!!!!!

  • if the yanks are making it they will stuff it up like they made a mess of Thunderbirds..

  • @finalmind Well the producer is a big fan of UFO and Gerry has consulted with them about it, something he never did with Thunderbirds, although he's not fond of the script.

In Thunderbirds's defence, it was made by British people who had absolutely no idea how to handle the material they had been given. If they had gone with the original script instead of the "3 kids save the world" idea, it would have been great. Here's hoping that Gerry's continuation series of Thunderbirds will be awesome.

  • @finalmind This yank is thumbs upping your comment because he knows it to be true :(

  • @StarwasterPrime Nah, they just had no idea what Thunderbirds was about, or who to aim the film at which is why they made such a hash of it. I've read the original script, and it would have been near perfect if they had filmed it, but they changed the entire thing from the ground up and aimed it at the kids.

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman This is a home made attemp yest, but they ARE making one at the moment, it's in pre-production.

  • please continue, its a good casting. who would be ellis and nina barry? Zoe saldana? halle Berry?

  • People are still making series about alien invasions, so it is a good idea for the series. What made it unique were the elements of mystery, intrigue and the interaction of the particular characters. Maybe someday they will revive the series. Though these days that would probably mean 4 episodes a year :)

  • Never heard of this Neil MacDonough bloke , but blimey , he is the spitting image of the late Ed Bishop himself who sadly passed away in June 2005 .

  • Your casting choices are quite good, especially Neal McD as Straker.

  • @howardbeatman Thanks Howard, if I had to cast it these days, Neal's the only person who would survive. I'd probablt go for unknown's for the other cast members, though I would like Gene Hackman to play General Henderson.

  • I watched UFO & Space 1999, and thought about, I would play act it in my youth. We are on a combat mission, a UFO landed in a small town to abduct its people, the Air Force supersonic transport takes off, my combat team is ready, we parachute down, and the firefight is on. The aliens have stunned the population, but my team is psychic resistant as battle survivors; Mad Mike my mate, went one time "I'll fix you" when one newbie lost mind control and shot his own team, and Mike shot him: Fun.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF

I thought I was the only person to do this....

  • A legend of UFOs is once abducted they do a genetic gender change, you are never the same after being returned to Earth. The cattle abductions & mutilations, the genetic experiments, the Men In Black with secret bases (came from the U.S. Air Force that did mysterious investigations, seemed weird), and then the strange battle flights across the sky. Where do you begin to tell the story? There is a large collection of tin-foil hats to the stories of UFOs and their thought control.

  • The casting choices are pretty good- it would work. Everything under the sun is being remade, why not UFO?

  • 5-Just to be nice, I'll say nice try, and keep working, you'll eventually gain better skills, and thats no insult. Good continuity AC.

  • @lestef23 Considering this video is 4 years old, it wouldn't take much to better it if I re-did it.

  • 4-Still, I like UFO, and I've watched some clips on Youtube, and thats why YT made your film a suggestion.

  • @lestef23 Well at least the video's tags are working correctly.

  • very weak, epic fail

  • @lestef23 Lol well nice of you to say so. Whenever any of your videos become half as popular as this one, I might just take you seriously.

  • @ACtheLegend 1-My videos are films of a particular event which is not subject to artistic montage, so its no subject of comparison. 2-Your film is surfing on the (resillient!) popularity of a TV show, so the amount of viewers does not reflect the "quality" of your work. 3-Your montage is weak, you dont let enough time to see some pictures well, and some lines could use some work. Besides, what size of character are you using? Looks like a kid trying to use powerpoint.

  • @lestef23 @lestef23 Well 1-Ok, fair point 2-quality of work has been repeatedly praised by the loyal fanbase and on the Gerry Anderson forum 3-It's a teaser trailer, the images are cut fast on purpose, the lines were thought up in 5 seconds just to give it an intro, and it looks like powerpoint because it was only the 3rd video I ever made and I had no means of importing video. If I re-did it, I'd get a professional voice artist and use proper clips.

  • Neal MacDonough as Straker and Alan Rickman as Freeman is exactly right! Joshua Jackson was a decent choice for Foster. Clive Owen could have been good too. Helen hunt is a great actress but she just isn't the Virginia Lake 'type". I loved Wanda Ventham in that role. Who will be Lt. Ellis?

Kidding aside......I'm serious! MacDonough should be Straker and Rickman should be Freeman. You nailed it!

  • weak

  • @deadheadtrea Thanks. Sure when you actually bother to upload a video and it gets 152,249+ views, I'll maybe consider taking you seriously.

  • @ACtheLegend ROFLMBO!!! At you.

  • @deadheadtrea Care to elaborate?

  • pedazo de mierda de video....

  • @caluvapa Quizás usted debe procurar hacer un vídeo mejor si usted no tiene gusto éste.

  • Interesting choices. I could definitely see Neal MacDonough as Straker. Alan Rickman could certainly play Freeman. But Cusack for Foster doesn't quite cut it, IMHO. I think Joshua Jackson is an excellent choice. I just hope he'll be a bit more animated than he is in Fringe. ;-)

  • Nice touch ACthe legend

Maybe the powers that be could have shown your enthusiam for the show and did somthing years ago. keep us up to date on the new stuff

    Cheers

  • There actually was a serious attempt to revive UFO that dragged on for years. Ed Bishop was interested in doing a UFO revival right up until he died. There was too much political BS going on behind the scenes that the project kept getting delayed until it was too late. This isn't a real trailer, btw.

  • @gamewizard I know it's not a real trailer, but they are making the first of a real UFO trilogy and it's due out next year. So far the only confirmed cast member is Joshua Jackson as Paul Foster.

  • Helen Hunt..... alien....i think !

  • Very very Funny................please make another one

  • Helen Hunt as Colonel Virginia Lake is definitely an interesting casting choice, I support it ;)

  • Checkout the site "VoobyMovies" they have tons of new release and classic movies free to watch

  • If James Cameron were directing....oh hell yeah.

  • that's a great idea! :)

  • Helen bloody Hunt!...to play the gorgeous Wanda Ventham? No way!!!

  • @bigkitten

Wanda Ventham was in Carry On Cleo. She was the pretty woman who was bidding on Jim Dale at the slave auction but was outbid by the fat one.

  • Great selection of Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds puppet replicas at televisionpuppets dot com

  • what happend it never came out ?

  • It was never going to, it's a fake trailer. The real movie comes out in 2011.

  • Hope they don't ruin it like they did Thunderbirds...

  • Sounds scary, thank god it´s not true. The original show was good enough

  • what ever happened to that film or tv series?

  • Cool!

  • Cool!

  • Nice!

  • if the remake anything like the thunerbirds remake. they can shove it. great series anyway.

  • wishful thinking! I still remember the girl in the fish net shirt ;)

  • That gave me a fright when I saw the title of this clip. Thank goodness it isn't true. It could never match up to the original.

  • John Cusack is too depressed to interpret this role.

    However: GREAT SERIES!

    GREAT Gerry Anderson!

He has also written the series "Space 1999"!

Later this series was ruined by an American author....aAn author who was called "series-killer" because he had destroyed many TV-series.

  • Neil McDonough....Good choice

    Alan Rickman........No

    Helen Hunt.............Ooo cute:o). Yes!

    John Cusack .........No

    Phillip Glenister as Freeman

    Damian Lewis as Foster

    Ok go make it!:o).

  • Phillip Glenister as Freeman

    - WIN

  • No gingers please.

  • moslem you sound pissed off .what for?

  • if they did make this in to a movie.all the stuff they can do it would be awsum ide buy it.mind you i remember the 70s tv show

  • Helen Hunt would make a Super-Sexy Colonel Virginia Lake!

  • nightmare!!!!!!

  • why cusack? he is a nutsack and i hope he sees this

  • Hey dufus, TRY WATCHING THE SHOW that this clip is based on before you talk.

  • Hey cuntface, moslem lover, I watched this show on its original run, you stupid, motherfucking jackass. So don't go fuckin' telling me what the show it about, asswipe. Now go back and stick your head up Gordon Brown's islamic sniffing asshole. Bitch!

  • Okay, calm down there lvcambot!

I made it 3 years ago, I'd never used Movie Maker before that, it was just a bit of fun.

Yes, I know all about the attempted remake, the point of that question was...?

Did I say this was supposed to be a remake shown on TV? No I didn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if your head explodes if you react so heatedly to every harmless bit-of-fun video you view. No offence.

  • Thats a good idea, I always wanted see UFO become a movie, why not?

  • When casting, first think "UK" for sake of originality! Neal MacDonough would make a prominent Straker for 2 reasons: his striking resemblance to Ed Bishop and because the latter was the ONLY American actor in the show. Rickman is perfect as Col.Freeman. John Cussack..Christ! Like having Ralph Nader drive a '71 Eldorado! Sci-fi? WAY OUT of his league, esp a show such as this! Try Pierce Brosnan as Col. Foster. Helen Hunt? (again, think UK people!!) Lucy Lawless would make an impeccable Col. Lake.

  • General Henderson was played by a British actor?!?!??!

  • Okay, this is just freakin' lame. This is exactly why I hate fan-made trailers.

  • That was funny.

  • If and when they ever do a remake , I *really* hope they don't "Update" it in the present year ( 200~ ) and just keep it in the 1980's. It's quite obvious that the "1980" of the UFO series is /was not the "1980" of our Earth.

Any remake should be set in an "alternate" Earth, where the technology was 75-100 years ahead of our Earth ( reversed-engineered alien technology? )

But knowing how Hollywwod is, and in order to sell it to the studios, I'm afraid that they will go the usual route......

  • Ya know, I almost hope they DONT do a remake because every remake they do of any of the old stuff just sucks!! They would cast a bunch of liberal feminist women from Hollywoods stable of stars and the thing would be like "Lost in Space","Miami Vice" or the many terrible other remake's!

  • You got that right! I cringe to think how they are going to screw up this remake. The first was dated, but man so good. Just the music alone was great!

  • I dunno. Some remakes aren't too bad. The new Captain Scarlet and Battlestar Galactica are hardly pissing on the legacy of the originals. You just need to find the right talent to pull it off.

  • 'Finding the right talent' ...How about Gerry Anderson? He was responsible for the new Captain Scarlet. If it were to happen and UFO is remade or shot as a movie, lets not screw it up like Thunderbirds. What a waste.. I waited 40 years for that shite. P.S This video is a bit rubbish.

  • Helen Hunt no. Need some serious role playing here. I think Ed Norton would be good.

  • was this a northern soul song?

  • This is one series that begs for a re-make. It was way ahead of it's time in the 1970's. I do know that an Aussie company tried to get funding for a remake back in the late '90's early '00's. They only got to the concept stage though and did some pretty cool CGI renderings. I think they are on the official UFO website.

  • Is this for real?

  • No, it's not for real, it's completely 100% made up by me, as I have heard no news whatsoever about a UFO movie.

  • Shit. You give me really hope because I LOVE this TV Serial I saw it when I was 6 years old and I still wait of a remake. But please not like Battlestar galactica. The Story is still good.

  • Who will play Lt Ellis and will she be as sexy as Gabrielle Drake?

  • THAT is the question. Ah, Gabrielle...

  • Indeed. Good performance by Gabrielle Drake. Mixing vulnerability with steel and a cool head when things go wrong. Who could have known purple and silver were her colours too. Can't think of anyone else who I would like to cast as Gay Ellis.

  • I agree... NO Helen Hunt please!

  • Great idea. I would love a remake. I loved this show as a kid. I would seriously watch every episode even if Sci-Fi Channel made it...meaning all the production value of "Mansquito".

  • Please NO Helen Hunt

  • What's wrong with Helen Hunt?

  • They should remake it;

but instead of UFOs, they are protecting the Earth from terrorists, and instead of Ted Straker, the main guys name will be Jack Bauer.

  • They should use CGI to remake this show (like they did with Final Fantasy), using scans of the origional actors. Unfortunately, any remake of the show would probably be distorted away from the 60's vision of the 80's charm it used to have....

  • I doubt they'd remake UFO. It would probably be shit like all the other remakes such as Battlestar Galactica, overladen and relying heavily on the SFX.

  • My cast selections would probably be : Jessica Alba as one of the 'space Babes' Helen Hunt could play her mother!?

  • top if only 2 fast

  • Wrong cast ! Neal MacDonough couldn't act his way out of a paper bag let alone a UFO !!

  • You wish my friend you wish ! and me too *wine* by the way GREAT IDEA ! ;)

  • I tired of King Kong movies please make this show into a movie.

  • I will like to see a anime version of U.F.O.

A anime version of U.F.O. may turn out good if its done by a studio like Gainax (Neon Genesis Evangelion) or Gonzo (Blue Submarine No.6)

  • Helen Hunt - yuck! vile casting.

  • This is a fake or a joke, of course.....

  • Great casting!!!

MacDonough would be a good Straker.

  • These guys were from the planet Scope

  • Very clever

    Love the series UFO

  • DAMN I really thought there was going to be a remake :(

If you ever win the lottery, you should go ahead and make this movie!

  • I can't believe I stopped in to watch that garbage.Oh fuck now I'm commentting on it,shhhhhhhhhhhit!Myspace/utadoomsday

  • Thanks for that valuable insight.

  • Who would play Lt. Gay Ellis?

  • Hmm, thats a tricky one...

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Gabrielle Drake

  • Brilliant, 10/10 for effort! A spoof mini ep would be even better!

  • Ed Bishop was irreplaceable I think, but a good vid all the same! :)

    Ade (Damon Dark)

  • That's not space 1999 it UFO produced in 70's. Much better than Space 1999. John Cusack would probably not suit the role of Colonel Foster. Someone smooth. sly and seductive would be better.

  • Yeah, and ideally British too, got any ideas?

Oh by the way, the other poster was replying to a post in which Space 1999 was mentioned, just to clear up any confusion :)

  • I'm no casting agent but I would like to see either Julian McMahon from "Nip Tuck" or Robbie Williams to play Colonel Foster. Maybe the new UFO project should include some humour?

  • Hmmm, Julian McMahon, that's a rather interesting idea, he certainly looks the part.

I like the way humour was handled in UFO, it was very subtle most of the time, but there were occassions when it was obvious, for instance when Straker records Gen. Henderson's voice and plays back "I'm a pg-headed cretinous lout"

  • another great tv show, which just disappeared into the deep dark neither world, any idea whythey stoppede making it?

  • I believe it was simply because the financers of the show wanted something slightly different, so Space 1999 was made instead of making a 3rd series of UFO

  • I think it would be awesome if they did a remake of Space 1999 - coz they couldnt call it that anymore...maybe just Moonbase? - gotta love the Eagles and the phasers! Oh...miiiia mmmm LOL

  • I was getting all excited watching this for the 1st time today 7/7/07 being just days away!!! I've just started re-watching the original series on DVD and was looking forward to seeing this 'new' production until I started reading the comments:(

  • What Channel will this be on? Sci-Fi or what?

  • It's a spoof trailer mate.............

  • I'm waiting for the original series on DVD. I don't think I ever saw this show.

  • Alan Rickman as Colonel Freeman. ROTFLMAO!! Thanks for the laugh...I needed it.

  • I know :D I mean at the time I made it I just couldn't think of ANYONE, and I think I had just watched Galaxy Quest, so I put Rickman in it lol.

  • Cool! So, who would play Dr. Jackson, I wonder?

  • Actually the new series should have a brand new crew. The head honcho should be played by chinese-american actor Case Chin. Commander Alex Chen

  • about video ufo trailer 2007, i request more information. this is very good

  • Great sound for a U.F.O - aliens take note!

  • straker ran his men like a well shuffles deck of cards. He was more than likeley a pimp in his spare time. Maybe even a pornstar.

  • Well, the cover for SHADO *WAS* a movie studio....and Straker seemed to get it on a bit. :)

  • Thank you for you ridiculous video

  • This better be real!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where is this music taken from? is it from a soundtrack album?

  • I downloaded it from a UFO website a few years ago, I believe they got it from a soundtrack album.

  • This was THE BEST TV show ever made. I liked it better than Star Trek.

  • I totally agree with you!

  • Please this was NOT better than Star Trek. Dream on.

  • There was a plan to bring in back a few years ago but it was dropped.

    - I had a crush on Ellis...whoa!

  • Lets face,he was human,a very brilliant, wily, cunning human, the aliens were really no much for Commander Ed Straker!

  • Ed certainly WAS UFO, wasn't he? I think Ed Bishop's tense, moody, "repressed volcano" performance was the source of at least 50% of the atmosphere of paranoia and impending doom that made the show so compelling. And his sensitive moments lent it genuine depth.

  • Or should that be,Ed Straker!

  • Good, there is only one Ed Bishop!

  • Unfortunately no :( Although that's a good thing really. We can just look back on the old one and know it hasn't been spoilt with a horrible remake etc.

  • I was just wondering,is there a new series?

  • I no, it's just so hard to think though! :D

  • UFO was essentialy a very British sci-fi series, apart from the late great Ed Bishop, all the actors were British, the choices for Col`s Foster & Lake are a little too Hollywoodish!!!

  • Well it made me smile. Have you seen Damon Dark on You Tube? Ed Bishop agreed to appear in a Damon Dark production back in 1996, but it sadly never happened. Damon Dark was inspired by UFO...it's about a govt Agent who is hunting for aliens and UFOs...

I'm not sure I'd have picked that guy to play Straker, maybe Daniel Craig would be a better choice. And...oh...Jessica Alba as the Commander of Moonbase in the silver catsuit and purple wig?

  • Can't say i've seen it, but I'll give it a look! I really went for Neal MacDonough as a lot of UFO fans commented on his striking resemblance to the late Ed Bishop. As for Jessica Alba, she's probably a bit too well known, but it could work!
