This is okay, but it seems that when groups attempt doing this song acapella, they tend to push wayyy to much, which is what happened here. Additionally, you're forgetting the importance of the sticatto hits, and it's just way to legato. In the same respect, sticatto does not mean pushing.
No, that's just it. They're not seperating all the notes very distinctly. They should close their vowels on an m or an n, so it still carries but produces a staccato sound, instead of only sounding pushed. Like a bm bm bm ba-m bm ba-m bm bm bm bm ba-m bm ba-m bm. Or a dm dm dm da-dm dm da-dm dm dm dm dm da-dm dm da-dm dm. I did an arrangement of it with both of those variations, and it worked a lot better. I also slowed it down a little bit to provide for better seperation and clarity.
Additionally, it seems that they're rushing wayyy to much, and I think this piece might be best as a men's piece, because it seems that the girls always overpower the guys. Not their fault, of course, it's just the way the piece is. I've tried it all-men, and the balance and tone seems to be a lot better.
You gotta love it when people express their "expert" opinion on singing and a cappella arrangements based from their awesome college a cappella experience.
Was that supposed to be sarcasm? I never said I was an expert, but I've been performing since I was 7, so I know damn well how things should sound, lol. I'm just speaking from experience; I never said I was an expert. If intelligent opinion, please, enlighten me. Lol.
nice....been looking at a few versions of this song, none of them gave it as much energy as this and that's one of the great things about the original
wish the recording was a little better, but I've heard worse..
As much as it pains me to say this as an OSU student, this is best a cappella version of this song I've heard.

THE best soloist out there, doing this song! He has *great* pitch, going into falsetto at the right times... great arrangement and performance.

WOW! - I can honestly say- As a huge fan
of Coldplay- I dearly enjoy your SIGNIFICANT
rendering of such an artistic arrangement..
That group creates some VERY different music
and some complex tones, and you REALLY
represent all the sounds of their music!!
--Simply-I do NOT know how you do it?!
Entertaining unrelenting multiphonic pure harmonic
better than booze, right down to my shoes,
enjoyment factor!! Ha Ha!! Keep up your great Craft!! Thanks!
