Argento did good stuff in the past, but now he's not keeping up and this whole project looks really awful. He should just step back and leave his fans with good memories.
Oh shut up Argento. As a long time fan, you made some of the greatest horror/Giallo films of your time. Deep Red, Tenebre, Suspiria, Inferno, Bird with the Crystal Plummage, Phenomena, Opera and Inferno are some of my favorite ever films, but you take yourself far too seriously, let your ego go, and just quit making films. The trailer for Dracula 3D looks like a bad Uwe Boll film. You lost it, man. Your nothing but a joke now, once you were the master, and your recent films are laughably BAD.
After beiing a genius filmaker you've become(for me since the card player,only his "Master's of Horror" episodes remind me what a maestro he was) a ,whit all the respect i can show to your previous real masterpiece work like "Suspiria "for exemple, BIG FAT JOKE.
I really hope i'm wrong for this one but,unfortunately , i don't think so :-(
graphics or not, is not important. what important is the script and the performance, surely other needs too.
by the way, i am not against graphics as long as they are made credible. but most important is the story the script, what makes the movie interesting or uninteresting. there is nothing wrong with graphics.
How does a genius like Argento, who used to SET all the trends, now follow the pointless, idiotic, fake looking CGI and 3D trends? Obviously we haven't seen much of anything from the upcoming film, but I PROMISE you that his films like 'Suspiria' or 'Phenomenon' look 10 times better than any 3D crap!
before that america produced great movies. but europeans created the best and still the best. but europeans are in disadvantage, because of low budget and the monopolistic control of all cinemas worldwide by the americans.
demogagy is very old. however i must say all other dario movies...i do not like....sorry. but europeans made and still make much better movies than americans. but it is very hard to get their products into the market. america controls the market, including it has a gigantic finance and a monopoly-access to cinemas. any cinema shows american movies. since around 1985 america produces idiotic movies,
The only movies of dario, what i like are demon 1, 2, and 3, and dawn of the dead 1978, where he was involved in all of them. i saw all of his movies, and i must committ to make movies is very difficult, hard and expensive and very risky. but critics are very easy to be bad...too easy...
@russianimp1 Give the man a chance. His last couple of movies are far from his best but I still believe one of currently-living masters of horror can deliver something interesting. Obviously, its not going to be Deep Red. We we see... and its Phenomena, btw, not that John Travolta movie lol
@russianimp1 Argento never techinically "set" trends. Hitchcock was making interesting thrillers long before Argento. Argento just happpen to make ones that caught the audiences eye in both Europe and America. He also came from a well-off family that had been in the Italian films indutry for years, and he had the advantage of having contacts and money to make his first film and get it released massively
@avalontvgirl Hell yes! The man was RAISED on movies. His father produced some of them. His best films are erratic. Some say they are an illogical mess but I say artists don't need to be rational to be profound.

I respectfully disagree. Coppola's version looked nice no doubt, but not a great film as a whole. Ignoring the lack of subtlety, the mis-cast actors, and the fact the characters were completely different, it couldn't even get the point and theme of the book right, yet still had a self-important feel to it. Sadly the following Dracula films managed to be even worse and judging by the teaser this won't be any different. Dracula as a giant praying mantis? That's just... silly.
@MaartenKempeneers No Rutger Hauer will always be Lothos to me ;), :p. Nah I bet he'll make a better van Helsing than Anthony Hopkins, although I don't like Asia Argento as Lucy @ all.

the francis ford coppola Dracula is considered a masterpiece. It's a great movie.
Fortunatly it's not based only on action and special effects.
Dario Argento is dead. The first movies made by Dario Argento were great! The last movies.... SUCKS A LOT.
