I can remember sitting down to the family dinner sometime in 1973 and hearing Cilla announce "the very exciting Marc Bolan" from the lounge room. I was so surprised I dropped the peas of my fork. Mad Donna which T.REX perform first is fantastically over the top and then Marc and Cillas voices work really well on this duet. Marc slightly ragged and out of breath and Cilla the pitch perfect family entertainer, what next I thought, Roxy Music on Val Doonican, David Bowie and Nana Mouskouri.

Nobody can share the stage with Marc, he was the best performer of all time, but I think Cilla compliments him nicely on this song.

Watched this at the time on the tv, as a star-struck schoolboy. Ancient family members watching the Lulu show came up the predictable and hysterical "disgusting", "he's on drugs", "look at that hair, he must have lice", which made this even groovier.

Seeing this again, all that seems like last month. Am a huge fan, through the brilliance, and the less brilliant bits of his creativity. Definitely an original, best band was the 1971/72 version.
