I would put this movie (Speed) among the other early 90's classic action films along with Terminator 2 and Point Break. I know there is others I just can't think of them this second, oh..... Total Recall would be another. This movie i feel for some reason has a similar vibe to as Terminator 2 does, don't know exactly how to describe it but it feels similar for some reason. Anyway this movie is phat!

Love this movie. My other 1994 favorite is Clear And Present Danger. Now I really want a GMC new look or "fishbowl" bus. Sandy Bullock wasn't really driving the bus. All of the buses in which (there were several) she was filmed in the driver's seat had hydraulic steering which bypassed the original steering wheel and led to the real wheel, which was on the roof! At 3:20,3;23,3:29 for example, you can see no driver on the roof but look closely, it's a stunt driver at the wheel!

Seems like there's just some stigma about what happens when the real actors also drive... there have been crashes related to that.

If I didn't know this movie came out in 1994 I would have easily thought it was from the 1980s... they clearly did not have enough money to crash brand new vehicles so they had to use older ones. Also, the New Look model of bus that Santa Monica used at the time (and until 2005) that is featured here was last produced in 1986.

This contains two of my favourite scenes from a movie that holds plenty: Harry starting to come up with deductions that will lead them to identifying the bomber (4:15) - detective work being brought in; and the scene where police cars and motorbikes suddenly appear (7:00) - at last things are about to get under control. Oh no! A bunch of kids start to cross the road and it all goes wrong again! "Why aren't they in school? Why aren't you in school?" yells Bullock! Lovely.

I'd be rich if I had a quarter for every time I thought the same thing. What poeple don't seem to get is that the ridiculous cartoony color contrasts and unnatural edges of modern "HD" content actually takes away more than it gives.
