  • are boogie woogie, lindy hop and swing dance the same thing? sorry for the question but i'm a noob

  • @paolomagnimel There's lots of different kinds of swing dances. East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop are two forms of swing dance. Boogie Woogie is a European footwork styling. It's considered it's own dance, but it's pretty much the same as East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop.

  • wow. swing dancing is beautiful. better than modern dancing.

how many hours of practice does it take?

is it necesary to practice with a partner?

  • @ThePsychoCandy The more you practice, the better you can become. Practicing with a regular partner has some benefits, but you should also social dance (or dance with lots of other people) to understand lead and follow.

  • Nope, I love French Modern Jive and WCS, but this really doesn't appeal. Best left to the kids and those with access to a reliable supplier of whatever it takes.

  • i did this when i was young and now at 68 im gunna do it again as now i have the time and i still got the go

  • that's the spirit :)

  • Don't tease like this!

  • says your vid is an hour? it's a minute.

  • 1hr 45min instructional DVD (trailer is 1min)

  • where do and how do i get it just gotta

  • what is the music in the beginning?

  • It's from a san francisco band called The Swing Session. And on their CD of the same name, at amazon. Almost all their songs are swing standards though so written and originally performed by others. Cheers, JF.

  • Fantastic, thank you ever so much

  • Their name used to be The Swing Session and now it's Stompy Jones. They have albums under both names. They're just amazing! They write wonderful original music and pick great standards. :)
