  • Oh damn, I've read this poem today for the first time and it immediately have become my favourite. Then I thought - oh, how damn beautfiul it would be as a song, so I typed it and your version blew me away. Perfect.

  • Very cool, Dan. Frost has some great ones. His poems have registered more with me than a great many other poets.

I even have a fancy condenser mic! and new software! Im also a drunk now so that might mess it all up. or make it better I dont know. Thanks for playing it on the radio!   • so lovely to listen to this masterpiece poem set to such a lovely tune on this, the winter solstice here in Australia ... this is our "darkest evening of the year" and it meant so much to me to hear it right now ...the right poem and song at the right moment ...thank u Dan for doing such a good job ...never get tired of listening to the way u have presented this for Robert Frost ...

    But it didn't really suit the "hidden meaning" of the poem

  • Thank you! Yes the chords are D-Am-Em for the singing part. I use the same chords for the solo part only higher up on the neck. I hope that helps!

  • We're singing a version of this poem by Randall Thompson, and it's gorgeous. You put this poem to music very appropriately, and your voice sounds gorgeous with it too! It's a lot different than the Thompson arrangement, but it sounds great. Good job!

  • I'm very impressed. Robert Frost was a good poet. I remember reciting "Fire and Ice" in High School. The echo in your song helps me envision "the woods and the frozen lake". Five stars.
