  • Yeah so let that be a lesson to you rich spoiled kids lol don't just take it off a jump because you WILL fuck it up.

  • @MyGeneralLee1, no moron, If you watch the damn video, the rear quarters rotted away and he did not cut off the roof. Idiot.

  • @STRICKER2009 Yes. It was Travis Bell. He had it for a while -before restoration- and sold it. Like 3 owners later is was restored and Bo Duke -John Shnieder don't know how to spell last name- drove it upto where the ramp used to be in Georgia.

  • Didnt someone find and bought the original General Lee and fixed it up like in the past 5 years?

  • I grew up watching this show as a kid.Great video guys!

  • Travis Bell scammed Cliff Shaw, the junkyard owner and got Lee 1 for $400 dollars when it was worth atleast a couple of thousand dollars.Bell also told Cliff Shaw that his father was the stuntman that jumped Lee 1 and was seriously ill in hospital.

He also cut off Lee 1's roof and sold it,he cheated his partner Gary Schneider, and pretty much sold off all the fenders and body of Lee 1.

And thats only the Dukes related things he's done.

  • Ok let me just set a few thinks straight.

None of the builders(Veluzats,Ken Fritz,Warner Brothers) ever changed a 1970 charger into a 69 lookalike.

To change a 68 to a 69 all you have to do is change the grill, tail lights and bondo over the reflectors.

To change a 70 to a 69 you have to change the whole front, and the tail lights. And for only a few seconds of screen time? The builders just didn't think it was worth the effort.

  • You Sir are a dead set LEGEND!!! Just imagine if no one knew where the origional General sat she would have rusted away... Nice job on the resto :)

  • Actually, I've been told by numerous crew members that there were no 1970 Dodge Chargers used on 'The Dukes of Hazzard' television series. They all said that the 1970 model conversion was too time consuming as the entire front-end had to be changed over to replicate a 1969 model. The 1968 Charger on the other hand, was by far the easier of the two models to convert into a 1969.

  • I watch an episode of the Power Block and the guys that found it and rebuilt it

were their guests that day. They talked about how they found it sitting in a feild sitting under a tree painted green and they claimed to have discouverd the documentaion stating that it was the number 1 General Lee some where on the car and when they scraped off some of the green paint they found the orange paint along with the confedrate flag. They said the car was destroyed and it took them years of metal work.

  • I think it was a flash back episode called the brth day of the general lee

  • WOW 320... and 26 for one movie talk about wasting.

  • @rabo317 back then they had no idea how rare these cars would be one day

  • lol, my dad would always say that its a diffrent car and not a charger when they jumped it just by looking at the rear end. This is my fav car and would be one heck of a project car.

  • 32 years ago today !

  • el general es el mejor auto de todos los tiempos

  • NOV 11 1978!!! GENERAL IS KING!!!

  • Quick, Robin,to the Racistmobile.

  • If you look closely, in some of the episodes you can actually see the front end of the car buckling when it hits the ground, yet in the very next shot the car would look undamaged :-)

  • lol 0:44 general lee has a hitch?...

  • Where can I get the whole video of the restoration.

  • I hate this show because of all the Chargers destroyd. There was no need for that :(

  • What about the trans am from smokey and the bandit. That was a classic.

  • Nov. 11th... thats my b-day.

  • anyone else notice that the 01 on lee 1 is crooked as hell

  • @andrew0901280 Yeah i noticed that man.

  • the top 4 movie cars ever are 1 the general lee 2 the delorean time machine 3 ecto-1 from ghostbusters and 4 kitt from knight rider

  • forgot about mad max's interceptor

  • What about the Dodge Challenger from Vanishing Point?

  • @deloreanrc dont forget bullitt

  • Some people think that the Batmobile is the most famous car in the world but thats BS. I think General Lee is the most famous car in the world.

  • IHR huren° die armen autos° ich will sone wixkarre! 5k fürn wrack

  • Take the Buick Grand National, you could buy that one for peanuts a few years back. now it's getting harder and harder to buy one, it's funny but that's how it works with cars.

You buy a new one, and in a few years it isn't worth shit anymore, you wait 25 years and suddenly it's the shiznett.

Takes vision to know what is what, and I guess the producers had no idea or maybe they didn't care.

    That's another matter though, grrrrrr.

  • Ofcourse I agree with all you guys but I don't think they realised it back than what an icon the Charger is/was.

You take a car thats 10, 15 years old now and you might trash it for a movie or whatever and than in another 15, 20 years you go damn, that wasn't such a hot idea.

Many of the Muscle car era where just nice old boys in the 80's.

If you have an orginal '69 R/T now you're close to being a millionaire, but that wasn't the case 25 years ago, that's why the Dukes had one.

  • Yep. And part of the reason it became an icon was because of shows like the Dukes of Hazzard.

  • Does anyone remember the jump scene from the early-seasons Dukes intro? As the car comes down, the front end bends visibly. I'm guessin' that one was a write-off.

  • Those Dukes of Hazzard are fucking assholes. They have wrecked so many Chargers, that i cant even get one. That is no way,to treat a Mopar!

  • i like the show, but 321!? thats so sad!

  • I keep seein hugger orange. Im thinkin hmm Dodge made it... hemi orange?

  • Resurrection? Returns to life? Reborn? They crash ten Charger for this movie! I call that a genocide!

  • As much as I despise the over-usage of CGI in movies nowadayz,... I wish to high heaven that they would've had a CGI car for all those jumps... breaks my heart to know over 300 mopars were murdered just for a tv show!

Oh, btw, don't hate on me, don't get me wrong - I LOVED the 1st season of The Dukes of Hazzard.

I LOVE the General Lee- VERY fond, nostalgic feelings of my youth, twas my happy place when the family life was rough.

The General is an awesome and cool car!

  • Where can i find the episode where they find the car in the junk yard and rebuild it?

  • at youtube

  • @jamesstrebel .... if i remember correctly the episode where they get the car is in the 7th season as a flash back.

  • @jamesstrebel Season 7 esp 1

  • @jamesstrebel It wasn't a junkyard. It was being used by a couple of diamond smugglers. It was impounded, then Bo and Luke buy it, then they want it back..

The episode is called "Happy Birthday General Lee"

  • @6869505 Wrong , They saw the car for sale and when they popped the hood open and saw the race motor that was in the car, The car was used as a race car before it was sold at the car lot .. Bo and Luke bought the car for the motor ....

  • @jamesstrebel search for LEE1 startup..

  • @jamesstrebel They found the car in a ravine submerged in water.

  • @jamesstrebel The episode you want is called Repo Men. It is one of the episodes in the first season. I think it is Episode 3 or 4. Bo and Luke have to repo a Rolls Royce for Lu Lu to get money to buy that car for the engine.

  • @jamesstrebel here on youtube

  • @jamesstrebel its on the film the dukes of hazzerd featuring jhonny knoxville check it out

  • @jamesstrebel I think it's about Season 6 or 7, The Episode called *Happy Birthday General Lee*

BOTH the movies were actually wrong, one showed them finding it in a lake, Can't remember the the second movie.

I'd have to check my DVD collection as I have them all apart from the *Reunion* TV Movie (Got it on NTSC and sadly PAL in the UK so my VCR only plays it in B&W :-(

  • @Thewizard22uk the other,doesn't show

  • @84Bronco351 The mran the vid of the Dodge being renovated?

I went to the site but sign of it anywhere so assumed it must be hiden well or been taken down for some reason (Shame really, I'd like to have seen that one) :(

  • @jamesstrebel the episode your looking for is called the birth of general lee

  • @jamesstrebel I know this is old but you're looking for season 7 episode 1 - "Happy Birthday, General Lee".

  • @jamesstrebel Happy Birthday General Lee is the episode

  • h t t p :// bcove. me/ 9pwdho71

just put all this together since youtube is anal about sharing web addresses

  • @jamesstrebel The Episode is General Lee's Burthday

  • No the real paint color is Hugger Orange ben jones (cooter) told me himself

  • yes it is GM Hugger Orange...the builder states this on tv...

  • at 0:19 the 01 is really wide compared to the others i know its th first but its strange to see it like that

  • i got a chance to have a picture taken with the original driver and the general lee

  • the actual color of the car in the first few seasons was,1975 GM Flame Orange!the cars were indeed 68-70 Chargers!they would use what they could off the wrecked cars to convert them to the 69,I remmember whatching an episode and it showed the round marker lights just painted over!to convert the cars they would use the taillight panel and front clip and grill from the 69,do some research people before calling names and acting like kids!and the cars also came in hemi orange and go-mango orange!l

  • look it up on google and you all will find the difference in the colors and details of the car!

  • the general lee is the shit!(that means it kciks ass,not a ppeice of shit)

  • no? rwally?! nice name O.o

  • "Lee 1" was the only General Lee to have chrome rocker panels, that's the most noticeable thing of how you tell it apart from all of the others.

  • jesus would you all shut up they turnd 68s and 70s in to 69 for the show if just used 69s there probubly wouldint be any in existance

  • no they did not have 6 diffrent models of the GENERAL LEE. EVERY MODEL WAS A 69 DOGE CHARGER PAINTED REDISH ORANGE WITH A 01 AND A CONFEDERATE FLAG. no diffrent all the models were the same

  • hey you should watch the fucking show you idoit they used for the show 1969 1970 and 1968 models and it was not redish orange it was hemi orange

  • no if you would actually watch the seasons of dukes of hazzard cooter told the color redish orange and in the episode they found the general lee it was a 69 doge charger there wasnt any 70s or 68s

  • actully there were many 70's and 68's. They just replaced the front grille and rear tail lights to mach that of the 69. As for the 68's they used body filler to cover the circular fender lights. The color was not always hemi orange, there was no actual color. as seasons went on the most affordable paint was used.

  • @mcamatt1993 How do you know so much about this geekdork?

  • @thinchris documentaries, and the internet...

  • @mcamatt1993 For the billianth effing time, THERE WERE NO 70'S USED. THE WERE 6-8 INCHES TO LONG. THE ONLY USED THEM FOR THE 2005 MOVIE!!! LEARN SOME DAMN FACTS

  • kinda true the used 2 or 3 dodge chargers they are basically the same except for some little details like grill and some trim

  • yeah thats about rite

  • all the same really come on now bud after tht first episode i never saw the confederate flag with a checkered flag crossing it right above the antenna they were not all 69s come on bud learn a little true fans know this stuff next your gonna tell me that they were all using hemi engines.
