Love the energy from these videos although the messy boards would drive me nuts if I was taking the class. I guess that's all part of the show though :)

I have followed every lecture in the MIT Algos lecture series, and was able to learn heaps from it, but they put me to sleep almost every time. I greatly appreciate Dr. Buckland's enthusiasm for the subject, and the connections he has been pointing out between the different algorithms. Some of this material will stick around for a longer period just because he is so animated and engaging. Thank you so much for making these public!

I love Richard's lectures, and putting this kind of thing on the Internet for everybody to access can't be underestimated in it's positive impact and benefit for everyone with Internet access. And the people seeking enlightenment will get the most out of it.

But the students sitting in front of Richard actually being lectured feel like a waste of time to me. Many of them won't be there because they want to learn, but as a consequence of some other whatever it was. Their retention level'd suck.

Do you think that someone who......can't construct a paragraph with proper....sentences.....and has to use dots.....to make their argument....should be lecturing someone else on how to teach......?

and for your information there is a difference between your....and you're.....you used your when you should've use you're...:)

I agree, there are many lecturers who just cover the material well enough so that no one can complain but aren't really bothered about how well they taught their class because they get paid the same either way.

However, I can't understand that out of all the crappy lecturers in the world for you to complain about you chose Richard Buckland. He really goes out of his way to engage his students and explain things simply and clearly (he also makes me laugh) He's one of the best lecturers i've seen.
