I personally love "Not Myself Tonight", I certainly don't see what the issue is with that song/single, especially considering the crap we have now that's very basic & goes #1. I think it's really the people. People are gonna buy what they are gonna buy. We have people buying into artist that have "No" talent at all. @chillikid1 I listen mostly hard rock, metal and heavy music but Aguilera is my quilty pleasure... her voice is just magnificent. Don't like her up-tempo songs very much..well I hate pop and dance music but somehow Aguilera's ballads just hits me so hard!

@ysdLEO it only "flopped" in the sense that it deserved to sell more. it's numbers were the SAME as everyone else's numbers these days not to mention she had 3 spots on the debut chart at the same time. She had the Bionic standard version, the clean version, & deluxe version. If those were added together I have no doubt she would have been at #1. it's unfortunate.
The album didn’t do so well… because her freaking label
a) Didn’t promote it much
b) Were too interested in making Bionic and Xtina fight and compare with Lady Gaga
c) And they chose the wrong singles to release…. They should have chosen Prima Donna, You Lost Me was fine, Glam etc… so many amazing songs were screwed up by the label

@siiAny I believe she's on the same label as Ciara, which is Jive Records and they did the same thing to Ciara with her Basic Instinct album. They're my 2 favorite singers and I hope they both get the promotion and marketing they deserve and get back on top because they deserve it.
@wrightbrooks she isn't on Jive Christina is on RCA Records, but yeah they did do something similar with Ciara, RCA did it to Kelly Clarkson too who is also an AMAZING singer :(
@TeamTonyPerkis I thought Jive, RCA, J and I believe LaFace Records all merged like 5 years ago into the RCA Music Group or something like that, well i guess I was wrong. I just hope all 3 of them can get with a label who recognizes their talents, because Xtina, Kelly and Ciara should not be struggling to get Gold albums and hit singles at this point in their careers, they should be able to release a single and it gets over 500K downloads in like 5 days and have their albums selling 1 mil each
@wrightbrooks you're not wrong! :) they did merge & are now owned by Sony but they still are somewhat seperate, like, RCA is half, Jive is the other half if that makes sense lol then smaller labels are under the 2 (like Arista is under the RCA half, LaFace is under the Jive half) etc. & agree with what you said! It makes no sense, I hope all 3 of those girls get the respect & recognition they deserve soon :( Jive has always been pretty on the ball with promo, RCA not so much :(
The real reason Bionic bombed- Not enough promotion but more importantly the right song was not released. In my opinion i still think this is a great album. Don't care what any know-it-all critic says. This album is full of great dance tunes, great ballads, great chilled out songs, great loving songs and with a golden voice like hers, she will always be my number one, no matter how hard i try to distract myself from her.

It sold in the same range everyone else is currently selling,exceptions being current "it" acts like swift gaga bieber etc. everyone else has been debuting in the 100,000-200,000 ish range some even LESS. examples: Maroon 5, T.I., Keyshia Cole, RKelly, Diddy Dirty Money, T.I. Black Eyed Peas, Kesha (74,000) Natasha Bedingfield (10,000)Duffy (18,000) Michael Buble (132,000) Katy Perry (192,000) Miley Cyrus (102,000)

The thing is RCA has always done this kind of stuff to Christina & Kelly Clarkson & a lot of other people on their label. I couldn't tell you why, but they are just terrible at promoting like they just don't care, & they pick some of the worst singles sometimes! It's really unfortunate. Monday Morning could have been a smash, PrimaDonna, I Am, Birds of Prey. They dropped the ball on this big time :(

@feuervogel2011 you're right, the thing is with Christina, being able to have creative control is very important to her. She wants to be able to write her own music, work with who she wants to work with, wear what she wants and sing how she wants to. Luckily RCA works with her on that, however promotion has never been the best, and all labels are struggling with funds these days so freedom gets even tighter :(

I know a girl at my dance school that does a solo to this. i have been trying for ages to find out what the song is called, and I finally found it and is one of my all time favourites. The lyrics are so strong and it feels so good to sing along to.

@ysdLEO it only "flopped" in the sense that it deserved to sell more. it's numbers were the SAME as everyone else's numbers these days not to mention she had 3 spots on the debut chart at the same time. She had the Bionic standard version, the clean version, & deluxe version. If those were added together I have no doubt she would have been at #1. it's unfortunate.

The album didn’t do so well… because her freaking label
a) Didn’t promote it much
b) Were too interested in making Bionic and Xtina fight and compare with Lady Gaga
c) And they chose the wrong singles to release…. They should have chosen Prima Donna, You Lost Me was fine, Glam etc… so many amazing songs were screwed up by the label

@UnleashTheVoice i agree in every point! when Christina changed styles (the dreadlocks, moulin rouge, black hair, etc) everybody says she is weird and she was criticized by everyone.... and Gaga looks really awful the most time and people love it.... i can't understand this.... Christina has made things before Gaga did so why compare Gaga and Christina? it's absurd, because between Gaga and Xtina are 10 years of career, so they can compare gaga to singers of her "time" and not to X-tina

She soesn't have to make out with everybody in her videos just to have millions of views (men or women). She just have to sing. That's her victory. @siiAny I believe she's on the same label as Ciara, which is Jive Records and they did the same thing to Ciara with her Basic Instinct album. They're my 2 favorite singers and I hope they both get the promotion and marketing they deserve and get back on top because they deserve it.

@TeamTonyPerkis I thought Jive, RCA, J and I believe LaFace Records all merged like 5 years ago into the RCA Music Group or something like that, well i guess I was wrong. I just hope all 3 of them can get with a label who recognizes their talents, because Xtina, Kelly and Ciara should not be struggling to get Gold albums and hit singles at this point in their careers, they should be able to release a single and it gets over 500K downloads in like 5 days and have their albums selling 1 mil each

@wrightbrooks you're not wrong! :) they did merge & are now owned by Sony but they still are somewhat seperate, like, RCA is half, Jive is the other half if that makes sense lol then smaller labels are under the 2 (like Arista is under the RCA half, LaFace is under the Jive half) etc. & agree with what you said! It makes no sense, I hope all 3 of those girls get the respect & recognition they deserve soon :( Jive has always been pretty on the ball with promo, RCA not so much :(

The real reason Bionic bombed- Not enough promotion but more importantly the right song was not released. In my opinion i still think this is a great album. Don't care what any know-it-all critic says. This album is full of great dance tunes, great ballads, great chilled out songs, great loving songs and with a golden voice like hers, she will always be my number one, no matter how hard i try to distract myself from her.

It sold in the same range everyone else is currently selling,exceptions being current "it" acts like swift gaga bieber etc. everyone else has been debuting in the 100,000-200,000 ish range some even LESS. examples: Maroon 5, T.I., Keyshia Cole, RKelly, Diddy Dirty Money, T.I. Black Eyed Peas, Kesha (74,000) Natasha Bedingfield (10,000)Duffy (18,000) Michael Buble (132,000) Katy Perry (192,000) Miley Cyrus (102,000)

But with the hate campaign attached to her when it came out lol & it still faired in the numbers as the majority of albums released in 2010, it's not a flop. People just believe what gossip blogs or angry gaga fans say & dont look into actual statistics lol luckily more people are giving bionic a chance now that burlesque came out & a lot of people liked it. I think her next album will be fine

The thing is RCA has always done this kind of stuff to Christina & Kelly Clarkson & a lot of other people on their label. I couldn't tell you why, but they are just terrible at promoting like they just don't care, & they pick some of the worst singles sometimes! It's really unfortunate. Monday Morning could have been a smash, PrimaDonna, I Am, Birds of Prey. They dropped the ball on this big time :(

@feuervogel2011 you're right, the thing is with Christina, being able to have creative control is very important to her. She wants to be able to write her own music, work with who she wants to work with, wear what she wants and sing how she wants to. Luckily RCA works with her on that, however promotion has never been the best, and all labels are struggling with funds these days so freedom gets even tighter :(
