Ace and Peter were the originals and the best, but let's face it. They drunk themselves out of Kiss. Peter didn't even play drums on the last couple of albums when he was still considered with the band.

It's not right for Tommy and Eric to wear the makeup though.

This was my first KISS concert. June 1979, at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, South Carolina. This was the third song in their set. They opened with King of the Night Time World, then Calling Dr. Love. The highlight, to me, was when Gene flew to the top of the stage to perform God of Thunder. No one was expecting that, though I did see some stagehands up there prior to the show.

Yes. This was 3 weeks after the Columbia stop. A fan who was 12 at the time responded to a comment that I made on that show. There was an Ace impostor walking through the crowd and he remembered the smell of pot in the air. What a shock (LOL).

@urberstud Tommy was also in the KISS Tribute band, Cold Gin as Ace. I saw the Reunion Tour in Columbia (Sept. 1996). Afterwards, another tribute band, Hotter Than Hell, did a show at a local nightclub. The radio DJ said that they were the only tribute band personally endorsed by KISS. There are others too, like Strutter, Destroyer, KISS Army.

When I was 12 I saw the Dynasty tour in Toronto, August '79 (with New England opening). It was a wonderful show, and equally wonderful period of great music. Alas, it seems like such a long time ago.

Gene's costume does not look like tinfoil in person. It was designed to make him look like a monster and It was very effective live.

At the beginning of the show they rose out of the amps in mist lit by the colors of their respective solo albumns. It was a very cool effect as they stood perfectly still like statues. Frehley's mirrored costume was his best ever. You can't get the effect in a video but when the spotlights hit him it let up the whole place. Pauls mirrored guitars had the same effect. The crackled one was the best but he used the solid one like a laser, beaming the crowd.

This is very early in the concert. They usually took the capes off after just a few songs. Radioactive was the single from Gene's solo albumn. They also did New York Groove, of course, and 2000 Man. When I saw them they did not cover Paul's single, Tonight You Belong to Me, but instead did Wouldn't you like to know me? And they covered Peter's Tossin' and Turnin' I really liked the Dynasty tour costumes and stage set.
