The way they tested the guy was kind of silly. I have a friend who has obsessively memorized a lot of sports facts, but that's more like trivia knowledge. It's not really the same as autobiographical memory.
@themasterbakerrr But how would you test their autobiographical memory without actually living their life with them? If you ask something too known, they would know, just like all of us (birthdays, anniversaries) and if you ask something unknown, they can lie and say they were reading a book on July 6, 1988 when in fact they don't remember. :)
@woah455 their answers are way too detailed to be making it up, you give them any random date and they know the day it was on and what happened on the news that day etc. etc., nobody could possibly memorize all those days and facts/figures/events even if they wanted too unless you have an autobiographical memory. Plus they would probably try to trick them and give them the same date maybe 100 hundred questions later and the answers would still be the same/match up.
