Dude, when I did my bike training our instructor said hey there's a cool way to turn your bike cos his was stuck, and did that technique of yours, but so quickly we didn't see what he did; he then made us bike straight off. So it was really useful to see you do it and now I know how. Thank you - and your comments at the start were fine.
Great, video! I use kickstand for other stuff too - to oil my chain (I don't have neede stuff for back tire, to get it up streight). Just put on kickstand -> cluch -> first gear -> and then pull it you yourself a little bit -> and let the cluch off a little bit. It's not perfect way to oil your chain, but it works :-)
What's your opinion on having tank/tail bags even if you don't need them? Are they good to have just in case? And do you really need to adjust your bike for the luggage?
I have a tail bag on 24/7 even when there's nothing in it, for as you say - convenience. It's my main mode of transport so I never know when I'll need to fit something, and it's great to put my gear in and take it off and carry to my destination. Adjusting your bike for luggage would depend on how much luggage you are carrying. I would look at tyre pressure and suspension if you're on heavy load. I've never used a tank bag though so I can't comment on that, scared to scratch paint D:!
I see. Well thanks for the feedback, lol. I found a great tail bag that can also be used as a sort of backpack when taken off. Thinking of purchasing that just in case a time ever comes up. Because the size of the tail bag, I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit a heavy load. As for your comment on the tank bag and paint... I never thought of that before. Good point!
I've seen this done a lot. Some guys on SS bikes can swivel it around 180 without any effort. I've never needed to do this myself, so I've never actually tried this.
I'm sorry, but you're wrong - if they're breaking they're not being moved correctly. I've not heard once from either of the top dealerships in my area, whome I regularly visit and also move bikes as I do, from classic to this year's models and have never - EVER - had anything remotely come close to show signs of stress while moving.
Infact I know people who lube their chains while balancing the kickstand and front wheel, to get around not having a centre stand.

I've been riding for 2 years and I've honestly never seen/heard this method. It's a handy thing to know though. Thanks.

Needed to do this today.
My retractable stand didnt cause any issue.

would it work with super bikes like yamaha r1?
therealHaroldnKumar 2 years ago
Yeah works on super bikes, just not on cruisers. The stands on the cruisers are positioned differently.

I saw someone doing this a couple of months ago. First time I'd seen it done in my couple of years riding.
I've always wanted to know how to do it properly, so thanks for that!

many new bikes have aluminum kickstands, they tend to break.
