Hello i was at an exhibit in harlem nyc, the title is soulful-stitching. patchwork quilts by africans (siddis) of india. its about the africans bought to india i believe around the 16th 17th century. they were enslaved but many escaped into the mountains. this is where they reside to this day. a very huge community mixed with african and indian blood along with culture. they didnt realise until 13 years ago where their ancestors came from. hope this helps. one luv
