I recently saw them live. Geoff can still bring it. Yes, he does hold back on some songs but he can still hit the highs. He picks his spots now as opposed to the '80's when he'd blow the roof of the place. Back then you would hear the strain in his voice as the tour wound down. Now you get a great performance throughout the tour. Much better IMO. Also, Parker does a great job on guitar. Hopefully Geoff's son-in-law will be a permanent part of the band.

Happy Birthday to Tate. Not an easy song for any singer first thing in the morning. Had a rather surreal moment when Dawn & were having dinner prior to seeing Mindcrime II @ The Moore, I had just seen it in Portland and was explaining the show to Dawn when none other than Geoff Tate walked past our table? He was having dinner in the same restaurant with friends and family. We didn't bother him. It was just one of those trippy moments in life.
