I'm currently working on an architectural visualisation project and i'm in a real need for some constructive feedbacks!!! But. i'm a bit confused about where to post the works ( as a video response to this video or ...)
Yes, post as a video response to this video. Then as a text response, explain what kind of feedback you would like. I'm thinking of starting a forum or blog to make feedback easier.
Reason you can not make a direct link in youtube comments. Is to stop spammers to... ya spam the comments. Anyway looking forward to see what this leads to :)
Here is another piece of software that I work with very often with Blender and they work well together. Notice Kizmit, Blender has plans to go in that direction. Also known as Blender nodal logic which I am excited to see and play with... Still working on the alpha sculpt tutorial.
Yes but for some reason youtube wont allow me to post anything that resembles a link or web address. I don't understand why. Maybe if I put spaces, let me try...
My video is a 10 second animation of a crystal ball rotating around Galileo's tomb in Florence, Italy. The image is an HDR image of the tomb...I did visit it over 40 years ago but didn't take a picture of it. I explain how I did it in my Blender 2.49b World Background Image tutorial. It uses no lights, just reflections off the image. Then I animate the crystal ball.
Be sure to post it here, even a WIP if you want some feedback. By the way, what is a UT3 invasion? You might also think about doing a video about how you model the monster.
Two questions. How far did you have to crank up the multires to sculpt your character? Did you use a texture brush to sculpt the veins and irregularities on the scalp and face?
I used custom alpha textures I made in GIMP for veins, leathery texture, and scars. It was nearly a million polys. This is the high poly I used for my normal map. The low poly retopo is also finished with spec, diffuse, and normal map applied. I'm just working on the rigging and having a bit of trouble. UT3 invasion is a mod of Unreal Tournament 3 a few friends designed. I suppose I could make a couple video tutorial on it, sure. I throw something together soon.
UT3 doesn't record bone scale but I do have a script that allows me to record parent/child relationships and the weight paint influences on the mesh. I found a work around but it is time consuming. Still trying to figure some of it out but recently I have been using 2.5 and my old 2.x Python scripts don't work with the new 3.x python that 2.5 uses so I have been doing some study into that
The idea also is to get comments about ongoing projects. Maybe there's an area, like lighting or texturng, where you have a question. My 2.50 smoke tutorial had quite a few video comments.
I think I will try blender for my next ad project..
