snow blind studios are veterans, they made champions of norrath on ps2 which was a very good game, Im still gonna get this and skyrim because both offer something different. This game you can choose different characters, customize your characters, gain new abilities, summon giant eagles, cut of limbs, embark on a 12 hr adventure with 3 friends co op or online. I hope it gets a score of atleast 8s then I will for sure be sold. who knows maybe will get a few 9s. I have faith in snow blind studio.

Sorcerers may have existed, but they were certainly not by any means abundant. The only magic wielders we see in Middle Earth are both ancient and wise. Even then, the magic they possess isn't like Harry Potter or any crazy like that. Saruman is a good example, using his voice. There were NO Orc mages EVER.

Well in the books, it is implied that sorcerers do exist. How else would sauron been able to hide in mirkwood under the guise of being a sorcerer.

I think a lot people have confused subtle magic with no magic in lotro.

War in the north will be good for visuals only. Seeing places like Gundabad, the former Capitol of the dwarves and people like Radagast and the sons of Elrond will be cool. That's about it. Keeping true to the lore doesn't seem like a priority to SnowBlind.

@herofromthedark the rangers are the last remnants of the Numenorians, or Dunedain. they were the first and greatest of men and lived for 200+ years, were about 6 ft 6 to 7ft tall on average, and were all around better than normal men. they were destroyed by god after they tried to access immortality through sauron. they only dunedain left were the ones that had settled in middle earth before. so now they wander the wilderness protecting the world of men in secret. aragorn was 6 ft 6 in the book

Im a huge LotR fan, and because of that, I refuse to play this game. Looks terrible and inaccurate. Why has every single LotR game except for the first Battle for Middle Earth been an extreme disappointment? They try and make up their own shit based off of Tolkiens universe when... HELLO DUMBASSES... just pick a point in ME's history and go with it. If you try and make a story line better than Tolkiens, and try and make up cooler characters than Tolkiens ---- YOU. WILL. FAIL.

Does anyone know if you're restricted into gender/race roles dependent on class. Because I feel that with games like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, and etc. that restricting one's class with specific races and genders is inexcusable. I don't want to play Champions of Norrath anymore, I want to be able to change the way my character looks based on my preference. If I want to be a ranger I shouldn't be forced into human or male. Perhaps I have high standards

@chaosXfun It ha salready been stated that each character will be custumisable and that you can choos what you want to specialise them in (archery, CQC, Magic....) With more options than you can count. If this game will be freeroam I'd say that its a must!! Linearity would be a dealbreacker

I think that those games actually hit their stride with linearity. Whereas if you look at freeroam games, the more effort you put into an overall look, the less attention you pay to details. Take Fallout 3- Half the time, you don't even walk in the same direction your feet move!

I'm torn. I love everything LOTR so much that i can't help but think it's awesome, and i will totally play the game. But i already know i will be cringing and shaking my head due to the increasing gaps between Tolkien accuracy... And good movies/games. I almost wish they would go back and just make huge epic games out of the Silmarillion, ones that people didn't know and would harder to screw up. Plus, doing that would encourage people to dig deeper into Tolkien's world too, ya know? Oh well.
