LOL yeah you do have a point. I meant, like, relatively speaking. At other points in the 80s Jerry looked truly like he was near death; here he is relatively animated.

Best Dead show out of 98 that i saw was this one. The post drums was incredible! Going down the Road feelin' Bad, one of the b=early and best Watchtowers, maybe the best Morning Dew ever! (top 3 anyways- just jaw dropping - hair raising on the arms!) ) and this. Encore: Knockin`on Heazven`s Door - sweet

Altoona, I don't think many people were surprised. They had done the same thing a couple nights before in Providence I believe. Same with the Greatest Story>Devil with the Blue Dress>Good Golly Miss Molly thing they played on this tour. A Newsletter with set lists called "Dupree's Diamond News" was common at shows in the pre-internet era, and gave us all a good idea of what songs they were playing and what to expect. I was at this show and figured they would bust this one out for NYC.
