  • Wow...did you count how many cars were on this train? I saw your message on the video after about 40 cars went by that said "about 6 minutes later..." and cars were still going by! How many cars were on that train?!?!?

  • not sure. It was quite a long one though. I'd estimate over one hundred but this was so long ago I cannot remember.

  • Kind of reminds me of the way I set up my trains for that route on Train Simulator, except I don't use so many intermodal cars. Get a tripod if you must, but you did just fine without one. Did they let you into Mohawk Yard or did you just so happen to get close enough to the yard to get a good shot? Not that CP really cares. They're pretty railfan friendly.

  • I have since gotten a new tripod and camera, see my newer videos. the road is actually about 8ft behind me, we just pulled off an a small dirt access road leading into the yard, its about 50ft wide so theres plenty of room. I believe that Guilford actually owns this yard but CP and NS run through it all the time. They havnt bothered me at all, once at another spot a railroad cop did tell me that I can't park where i had been, thats about it.

  • where is mohawk yard located

  • its about half a mile from Schnectady, NY

  • yes he was, in fact, if you look at the cylinder on the front truck, you can see it pulling in, releasing the braked

  • I love that sound at 1:42 - 1:45 "whooop whooop" =D i like the radio chatter too, very cool. o and was he letting of the brake in the beginning, is that what that noise was?
