For those who dont know South Africa and particularly Durban, it produced top rate cover versions. The Flames were top among them along with The Insects, The Wild Things and my favourites the Osborne Brothers, Tinky, Trevor and Cyril and then later the Eaton brothers who covered EWF's Fantasy like no other. Music really kept us going in those dark political days.

Its really cool to see Blondie on youtube and see all the people who appreciate his music. His brother was a dear friend of mine and my family. It really makes me smile to see him on live video here on youtube :)

I first got into Blondie thru the Beach Boys and love all his and/or Ricky Fataars tunes like Leaving this Town and Hold on Brother,We got love,etc.Great singer and Guitar Player and of course Ricky too on drums and pedal steel!I got Rick Dankos Crying Heart Blues and really dig Cheatin Heart demo by Blondie on piano and vocals and love the song I dont want to cry with Rick and band/with Blondie.Also you can run but cant hide,with Blondie on vocals and guitar and he wrote it as well..

Thanks for the informative comments Markgr122. I was amazed when Billy F. Gibbons came on stage to perform last night and pointed at Blondie and Blondie started to play some great lead guitar riffs. Then Billy got both Waddy Wachtel and Blondie to compete with each other in turns on lead guitar. This was the first time I say Blondie playing lead live. What a great performance. If the video of this comes out I will post it. Blondie sure does rock and also has a very nice stage presents.
