We have plenty of LIDS on the ham bands now that the FCC dropped the code requirement. Now we have techs on 10 meters running too much power and generals talking in the CW portion of 40 meters. Clean up the ham bands
I too am an Extra Class ham.. who the hell cares if they operate 1000 watts on 11 meters! WHO CARES! Let them be. Worry about your own station and let them worry about theirs. If they come over into 10 meters, ask them to leave. If they dont, call the FCC. In all honesty, let CB be CB.
I don't know where your at up there, Rabbit. I used to live up around Hastings, MI, which used channel 22. I used to go as Titan and ran a 6 element beam with 2kw. My mobile was a Galaxy 88 and a 12 pill box. I got out of it for a while, got my ham ticket, and now I am back operating from just outside of Sin City, NV. Now I am running an RCI 2970 and a 32 pill amp in the mobile -- pumping out a 3000w key-down and swing up around 7500w. Not the biggest, but I can be heard for sure, lol
I am an Extra class ham. There is no fucking way that I would say a word about anybody operating WTF ever they want too. As long as they stay away from 10m, I could give a shit less. I still play the high power 11m thing. I have for 15 years without any problems. Dipshit cops don't know a fucking thing about radio, so they stay out of it. 226 High Desert mobile rockin' these 32 pills around Sin City, NV, just got DOWN!
hey beastofold, i have a problem like that with the crystals in a 747 yaesu. they recently took a crap and the crystals are no longer manufactured, but they can be made up, but that would cost too much money and is not worth it. so i am stuck with the radio
It's not the finals it's the radio tech tuning the radio, even the older 2950's are a 40 to 50 watt radio! The only problems with the older radios is that those kind of finals are no longer made and if you blow one your in deep shit. You have to change them over to mosfets and that is a real pain in the ass!
great radio, own one myself. the only problem is that the finals which are the 2sc2290 or the 2166's im not sure, but they are not very good. don't blame ya for running an amp with the radio, rm italy is a very good brand. these radios are awesome with amps.
Last time I checked anything over 4 watts on 11 meter "CB" was illegal. You might want to think about that before you post evidence for the FCC to use against you. I think that you should just get off your lazy ass and study for your ham license. Then you could talk HF all the time legally!
buddy I work with them/along side with them..and I'm a very young kid in his early twenties, but to the point you're trying to change because you're wrong, the fact of the matter remains people causing disturbances have a high chance of getting caught by the fcc but I promise you in a city where the police are flooded daily with enough bull shit from people someone running 30 watts out of a car is not their biggest concern. If you beileve that is you're in a very different world
let me correct you Ham operators have the authority to help the FCC locate someone causing a disturbance good luck with your local law enforcement unless they have nothing better to do. Your average officer has no knowledge of cb/ham radios or the laws regulating them
Hey Get more Carrot Juice! Noice! Keep yer ears open kid, you never know when that good deal on a big ionosphere bender will be rollin into your neck of the woods.
They have a pair of 2sc1969 finals.
