The Cylon,Kitt,Tweaky etc were all way before the days of the LED,the LED didnt make it into the market until the early eighties and even then they were very dim and very expensive,all the light effects used in those series were done with bulbs,apart from the dash on kit,which uses the digtal display leds,the lamp on the front was not done with LEDS as at that time they were very low power and difficult to see in daylight,its only been in the last 7-8 years that we have had high intensity LEDS
