*Nune Yesayan, you sing Dle Yaman very beautifully. I love your song.
*Isabel Bayrakdarian, thanks for your explanations, so that people around the world would know it. I very much love your beautiful voice and version as well. I am also an ex Cnd'ian and I love you and what you brought to our wonderful culture. I am also a singer, but started later in life, I am a dramatic Soprano and my professor's prof. from Italy was Lucciano Pavarotti's prof. Seervart Kevorkian Kerb'ian.
Mon coeur saigne encore.
Those who perished so long ago, I will miss them even though I did not know them or ever met them. I will try not to think of those horrible massacres they suffered, but my broken heart won’t let me forget until some form of justice is done for them, because it’s just wrong to true your back on the Armenians, especially if you’re of the Christian fate!
proud to be an ARMENIAN, Dle yaman ,is one the best songs written in our history,we will never forget what happened and did to us ,not just the coward turks ,azeries, and don't forget the persians, everyday is Vartanants to us , Long live Armenia and all the armenians around the world,
Dle Yaman was first sung by a girl named Pteh from the village of Gghzee of the Kaza of Hayots Tsor of Van. At the age of 10 she became blind and due to this she went into a depression. Due to this depression she began to sing or create songs. Dle Yaman and Chinar were her creations. Her songs became so popular that they were sung all over Vaspouragan as far south as Shatakh. As much as Pteh was the creator of this song she herself was the creation of her environment, Van.
@NatalyaTopouz Dear Natalya The story about Dle Yaman I read in a book that contained a collection of songs from Vaspouragan (Van Villayet) put together by Hayrig Mouradian who was born in this region and migrated to present day Armenia after the genocide. Being a native of the Van region he as a boy heard a lot of these stories first hand.
"Dle Yaman was written as a love song, but after the Genocide, the lyrics I miss my beloved acquired a different meaning. I miss my beloved not because hes late from tending the sheep in the mountains. No, he was massacred." Isabel Bayrakdarian
duduk name which language of cross AZERI. why you tell this is armenia instrument this is rong god see...this is AZERI instrument if you want go to ask you grandfather duduk which country instrument.....of cross you grandfather speak AZERI instrument ok
Stupid, first learn spellings, second learn history, third talk to your murderer grandfather, fourth be ashamed of yourself. Exist in fear for you and your descendants will pay for the murders of your forefathers. Siktir from armenian land!
Nice arrangement of this LEGEND-SONG...Nune is a great singer & has a very charming voice...But I must say about Flora Martirosyan ! She was & still (in records..I didn't hear her now..) ONE & ONLY performer of this song ... with duduk ONLY ! no Imacks, no korgs or marandzes without any modern acoustic systems...IT WAS FANTASTIC !
This is a nation hardly tested by destiny !But look ,you all risen again and your national entity still survive proving the fact that there is nothing comparing to God`s desire !
The armenian music always sensibilised me and it remained there in my subconscious and when i remember about something sad it becomes active and i hear it very powerfull!
greetings to our armenians, brothers in Jesus from Romania! Our whole support - we also have been tested by destiny hard..
Dle yaman, Armenian exclamations, folkoric origins, as there nothing turkish under the sun except death, destruction, pilferage, usurpation, denial, murder, anti-civilization.
you are stupid too,you nothing understand,I said this is an Armenian song with only 2 Turkish words that both make a proverb: Dle Yaman (tr:"Dile Yaman") is Turkish which means like: "hardly conceivable", "not easy to say" or "unthinkable" or "almost inconceivable", fact!
so,the lyricer Vartebed used a Turkish proverb for titel, you understand now?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You ignorant racist turk, even you know that what you said is another lie...Well, turks and their lies fit eachother perfectly...cause only you guys believe your own lies...Have a sign of decency for God's sake (Allah askina)...
you racist stupid Kurd, maybe you can speak Turkish, then you must understand what means "Dile Yaman" in Turkish (is a similar porverb like "Dile Kolay"), you racist Kurd when you undertand Turkish then you know this is fact! and no "Turkish lie",
and again: this is no Turkish song, but it is an Armenian song thats titel "Dle Yaman" is a Turkish proverb (called "Ata Sözü" in Turkish),an other similar example is "Sari Gelin", okay you stupid racist Kurd?
"Dle Yaman" was one the thousands of ancient Armenian folksongs collected and preserved by Komitas Vardapet (1869-1935), a composer, musicologist and the founder of modern Armenian classic music. Komitas's life was spared through the intervention of a group of influential friends during the Armenian Genocide in 1915, but he lived to see everyone he loved to die in the Genocide. Komitas had never recovered from the emotional shock. He died in a psychiatric mental institute.THIS IS FACT !!!
Une des plus belles versions de ce chant sublime : Nune a la voix qu'il faut pour faire ressortir toute l'émotion qu'il contient et le duduk de Jivan ...une merveille !
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you are stupid,Dle yaman (tr: Dile Yaman) is a famous Turkish proverb, fact !
every Turkish listener can make an idea of the content of this song when they hear "Dle Yaman"
As I have listened "Dle Yaman" at first time, I immediately made an idea that this song is about the Armenian tragedy, although I didn't understanded Armenian
maybe the composer used this Turkish proverb so that Turkish people understand a little bit too
That's interesting...I understand the meaning as "oh, so cruel". Maybe there is some truth to what you say..."Hardly conceivable" would fit the song. However initially it was a love song. It is a very ancient Armenian song, maybe existed long before turks invaded the land. As I understand, the song's meaning changed after the genocide.
Yes its hard to describe all the horrors of genocide of armenians 1908-1923...by turk barbars - so why its impossible to convert into human language what kind of sufferings and terible senses bring genocide to millions of armenians in Western Armenia.....massive killings
Some people ask what "Dle Yaman" means, many people here believe there is no meaning of Dle Yaman,it would mean something like "ey, oh, ouhh",but Dle Yaman is a famous Turkish proverb (Dile Yaman),which means "easy to say" or "hardly conceivable/unthinkable" or "almost inconceivable"
it composed of the words Dil (tongue) + Yaman (hard/uneasy), literally/usally translation: Dile Yaman = it's hard/difficult for the tongue
so,the lyricer Vartebed used a Turkish proverb for titel
Amazing done!!!

Due to this depression she began to sing or create songs. Dle Yaman and Chinar were her creations. Her songs became so popular that they were sung all over Vaspouragan as far south as Shatakh. As much as Pteh was the creator of this song she herself was the creation of her environment, Van.

@mardirosmariam is this story true? or is more like a legend?
NatalyaTopouz 1 year ago
@NatalyaTopouz Dear Natalya The story about Dle Yaman I read in a book that contained a collection of songs from Vaspouragan (Van Villayet) put together by Hayrig Mouradian who was born in this region and migrated to present day Armenia after the genocide. Being a native of the Van region he as a boy heard a lot of these stories first hand.

The armenian music always sensibilised me and it remained there in my subconscious and when i remember about something sad it becomes active and i hear it very powerfull!

how can it be turkisch? are you armenian?
Dle yaman is a very old word/words. And armenia is older dan turkey. Turkey is from +/-1200 and armenia is 50 years older than rome!!
think bevore you say something. DLE yaman are armenian old words.. come on man
Narientje 2 years ago 2

You ignorant racist turk, even you know that what you said is another lie...Well, turks and their lies fit eachother perfectly...cause only you guys believe your own lies...Have a sign of decency for God's sake (Allah askina)...
delilbirindar 2 years ago
you racist stupid Kurd, maybe you can speak Turkish, then you must understand what means "Dile Yaman" in Turkish (is a similar porverb like "Dile Kolay"), you racist Kurd when you undertand Turkish then you know this is fact! and no "Turkish lie",
and again: this is no Turkish song, but it is an Armenian song thats titel "Dle Yaman" is a Turkish proverb (called "Ata Sözü" in Turkish),an other similar example is "Sari Gelin", okay you stupid racist Kurd?

"Dle Yaman" was one the thousands of ancient Armenian folksongs collected and preserved by Komitas Vardapet (1869-1935), a composer, musicologist and the founder of modern Armenian classic music. Komitas's life was spared through the intervention of a group of influential friends during the Armenian Genocide in 1915, but he lived to see everyone he loved to die in the Genocide. Komitas had never recovered from the emotional shock. He died in a psychiatric mental institute.THIS IS FACT !!!

you are stupid,Dle yaman (tr: Dile Yaman) is a famous Turkish proverb, fact !
every Turkish listener can make an idea of the content of this song when they hear "Dle Yaman"
As I have listened "Dle Yaman" at first time, I immediately made an idea that this song is about the Armenian tragedy, although I didn't understanded Armenian
maybe the composer used this Turkish proverb so that Turkish people understand a little bit too
kartkurt 2 years ago
That's interesting...I understand the meaning as "oh, so cruel". Maybe there is some truth to what you say..."Hardly conceivable" would fit the song. However initially it was a love song. It is a very ancient Armenian song, maybe existed long before turks invaded the land. As I understand, the song's meaning changed after the genocide.
clementine1127 2 years ago 4
@kartkurt Actually Komidas wrote this song. He was from the VAN region. So obviously he spoke turkish too.
