As unholy my highest crit has been 8.5k with obliterate and 8k with death coil...in crappy gear 4.5kgs atm but i posted those info for those who are out there and seek more info on dk's... (build is unholy with 3/3 anihilation in frost tree)
gj, i know several people who would take you for an icc, but in ulduar gear thats awesome. plus ur UI is kida screwy, i'd downsize that minimap, reposition ur buffbars, shorted the raidframes, and make ur bottom bar a little smaller
Death Strike is not appropriate when your unholy, you need you runes for SS. Main dps in the spec i SS, then deathcoil, diseases, blood strike and finally plague strike.
lol, Okay, well first off xt is a horrible standard for gauging dps, second, your UI is disgusting, keybindings on top of quarts castbar timers, on top of runes display.... not to mention 100 buffs dividing the screen left from right. maybe drag elk buff bars to the left side.

Well DKs are pretty good as AoE machines, spiking up to 13k dps on a fight that involves 20+ mobs in one area = a lot of a damage. DnD, IT, PS, Pestilence, and then just hit blood boil a few times and you have a ton of damage going.
But I'm currently DPSing as blood. Single target initial pulls I'll spike to about 8k dps, then level off and maintain around 5.5-6k; depending on the encounter.
The guy who said 5k on Ony is impressive... lol... I pull 9k overall on that fight as a DK, spiking 13k-16k overall on whelps. And this was before my 4set T9.
Unholy is for beginners - it has good DPS at the start without gear, but gear doesn't scale it too much. Blood is good too, it is for people who want to do good DPS but aren't the quickest learners and aren't very flexible. Frost is for more experienced people that are good with DKs. You need hit cap with frost too.
unholy scales very well with gear and with 4 piece T9 it over takes Blood possibly with the right amount of haste and such, its a very powerful build atm
They take a shit load of more damage though. The self healing abilites are only really effective in pvp. The blood DK can heal worth shit against any Ulduar or naxx boss. Wow you're scrub city. Blood are best tanks because Vampiric Embrace only has a downtime of 35 seconds. Frost dks might take less overall damage(speaking of course of very minimal damage) but blood tanks are always preferred over frost. Btw Ulduar bosses hit for 13-16k so I can see you have no experience tanking. Naxx hits for about 10kish.
15% extra hp? wow big woop you lose 35% per swing. 35% extra heals is pretty good i guess, but that one talent does not beat the entire frost tree ffs.

Not true, I have a DK in my Guild that is geared quite well and is Unholy. He can pull 4.8K in ToC 10man and 5.2K in Ony 25man. Check out Moomoovoodoo on the Arygos server

for this go unholy...look up Crowmonger and you can copy my build if youd like...blood spec is pretty gear dependent and with the new patch needs plenty of armor pen. to be useful....stick with two handers because alot of the abilities for DK are weapon damage based unless you go frost. and when raiding be in Blood pressence while being an unholy DK to get good DPS unless your good with your rotation and are fast with your action bar...then stick in unholy pressence for beast DPS...Good luck

Its the army+heart combo TWICE, youre very lucky on that, also how can you guys be doing that dps and still not even be CLOSE to starting the hardmode? Having 50% of the raid finishing of the adds you didnt even touch?
If i had stayed on deconstructor and not done the adds at all I wouldve gotten a bitchslap from my raidleader. Fancy numbers but hey, thats not everything ;)

death knights aquire extra dps to all of the raid with their talent spells and they give the tank a certain amount of survival with mark of blood, they can also heal themselves constanly and when a healer heals them if theire blood they it heals them for 15% more. they also can pull realy easy and no theyre not geting nerfed in 3.2.0....not 3.0.2 they just get a minor stamina loss , because frost prescence gives alot of health
Yeah we are getting nerfed in 3.2 you dumb fuck. Both frost strike and scourge strike are getting buttfucked, desecration's been split up and it's on proc now, chains of ice isn't a complete freeze anymore, icebound fortitude cooldown has been doubled (our main mitigation cooldown), toughness gives 10% armor instead of 15%, bloody strikes is about a quarter as good as it used to be, we have no more unholy blight, less stam from VottW, and ANOTHER frost pres. nerf.
u know its still not as bad as u think, desecration is now not giving strength, but there's a new talent making blood strike giving /1/2/3/4/5% strength for 12 secs, and unholy blight now gives dot when using death coil, which all are not rlly bad at all, and now u'll have some talents to spare on other points perhaps.
what? their getting nerfed like crazy, FS, SS both are less powerful then OB, less armor, less stamina, only thing good about the patch is DW, which non one does

Blood is better until you get a bit of ulduar gear. unholy is indeed more gear dependant, scales much more with gear, thats why its more common for dps in ulduar. Hope i helped.

Thats awesome, im unholy dps and i pull around 5k on this guy in heroic. May i ask your rotation? I usually try for the two blood runes so i can get three scorge strikes in a row and runic dumps in between.
i usually start with IT-PS-SC-BS-BS-DC-SC-SC-SC- Runic dump, and then just spam SC and DC unless my diseases fall off. Remember save your big CD's for the 1st Heart at 75 % like Aotd and Garg. Check out my armoury if you want to see my spec and glyphs etc.
You forgot to mention to use Gargoyle while procs are up, gargoyle benefits from your stats at the moment you use it. Bloodlust up means faster cast on the cast, Fallen Crusader up means more damage etc. Btw nice DPS :) Same spec as u, except i dropped a point in Wandering Plague for another point in Necrosis (= more single target dps and less aoe)
The songs are listed at the end of the vid - And i actually didnt use any macros during the fight, the only macro you see is Scourge strike which is bound to Runestrike aswell ( For soloing and pvp)

Unholy- good if you mainly multitarget tank/good for bosses with adds
Blood- Great single target tanking/survivability, great for bosses
Frost-Can tank anything it wants,prevents tank from lossing aggroe due to snare spells, etc

Its the army+heart combo TWICE, youre very lucky on that, also how can you guys be doing that dps and still not even be CLOSE to starting the hardmode? Having 50% of the raid finishing of the adds you didnt even touch?
If i had stayed on deconstructor and not done the adds at all I wouldve gotten a bitchslap from my raidleader. Fancy numbers but hey, thats not everything ;)

crit for unholy is stupid u want to have just cap ur hit/exp for the most part and then go mass str unlike in blood u want to have a high amount of armor pen and expertise

What.. exactly.. is a Death Knight's job during a raid? Surely you can't out-dps other DPS classes, and it seems like their tanking abilities will be gimped in 3.0.2... So what is your job in a raid?

death knights aquire extra dps to all of the raid with their talent spells and they give the tank a certain amount of survival with mark of blood, they can also heal themselves constanly and when a healer heals them if theire blood they it heals them for 15% more. they also can pull realy easy and no theyre not geting nerfed in 3.2.0....not 3.0.2 they just get a minor stamina loss , because frost prescence gives alot of health

Yeah we are getting nerfed in 3.2 you dumb fuck. Both frost strike and scourge strike are getting buttfucked, desecration's been split up and it's on proc now, chains of ice isn't a complete freeze anymore, icebound fortitude cooldown has been doubled (our main mitigation cooldown), toughness gives 10% armor instead of 15%, bloody strikes is about a quarter as good as it used to be, we have no more unholy blight, less stam from VottW, and ANOTHER frost pres. nerf.

u know its still not as bad as u think, desecration is now not giving strength, but there's a new talent making blood strike giving /1/2/3/4/5% strength for 12 secs, and unholy blight now gives dot when using death coil, which all are not rlly bad at all, and now u'll have some talents to spare on other points perhaps.

whats your characters name? so i can see your talent build, also in unholy i dont see how you reach that high of dps, cause in blood i reach 3.2k dps w/o naxx gear, but in unholy i only reach like 2.6k dps, is unholy more gear dependant? i just wanna know more info on whether i just need a way better 2h, using titan atm, or just naxx gear all around?

Blood is better until you get a bit of ulduar gear. unholy is indeed more gear dependant, scales much more with gear, thats why its more common for dps in ulduar. Hope i helped.

Thats awesome, im unholy dps and i pull around 5k on this guy in heroic. May i ask your rotation? I usually try for the two blood runes so i can get three scorge strikes in a row and runic dumps in between.

i usually start with IT-PS-SC-BS-BS-DC-SC-SC-SC- Runic dump, and then just spam SC and DC unless my diseases fall off. Remember save your big CD's for the 1st Heart at 75 % like Aotd and Garg. Check out my armoury if you want to see my spec and glyphs etc.

You forgot to mention to use Gargoyle while procs are up, gargoyle benefits from your stats at the moment you use it. Bloodlust up means faster cast on the cast, Fallen Crusader up means more damage etc. Btw nice DPS :) Same spec as u, except i dropped a point in Wandering Plague for another point in Necrosis (= more single target dps and less aoe)

The songs are listed at the end of the vid - And i actually didnt use any macros during the fight, the only macro you see is Scourge strike which is bound to Runestrike aswell ( For soloing and pvp)
