  • very cute :)

  • woh i really like your lori. pls guide me how to train my rainbow lori 12 weeks

  • @waqasadil1977 Well we never trained our lorry, we were given Sparky when he was about 5 or 6 and he was already talking. They will talk so long as you spend alot of time with them talking to them alot. They love to mimick your words so say them often. We have never trained any of our birds, we just spend lots of time with them, the other 2 birds have learnt most of their words from Sparky but we have taught them each different words as well.

  • haha my rainbow lorikeet replied to the sound Sparky made!

  • @AnimeFreakGaI hahaha my lorry is doing the same

  • cherrish every moment u have with these gorgus creature cause they will become apart of u.........my lil man trippa was my world and now hes gone it kilz me sooooo bad... i miss him more than every thing he was my best freind in the whole wide world and id give my left arm to have him back in my life..but some things u just cant controll...iam glad theres others out there that know how intellagent and loving these little guys can be......

  • Aww im so sorry you lost your little trippa, was he/she a rainbow lorry? Your right they are so intelligent, alot of pple underestimate just how much. Our little scaley lorry we just put him into a bigger cage and he remembers how in his lil one he could toss around his water bowl so still trys in this cage but he cant anymore but yeap every single morning he tries it, they have superb memories hey. Our birds have had such a huge impact on our lifes we love them so much :) xoxo

  • @Cupidx0x So sorry you lost your bird Trippa. They sure are loving and intelligent birds. My lory's name is Nikki and she is a green nape lory and is 2yrs. old. I adore her! I have had her for a year now and she is a wonderful pet! She is the sweetest bird I have ever owned. I hope one day, you will get another bird and have a new loving friend.

  • Roughly how large is your cage? And how much did it cost?

  • Do you think i should get a Scarlet Macaw or a Lorikeet? Macaws are usually like $2000 and ive been saving for one.

  • @shmowle macaws are a lot more than $2000 because you have to make sure that you also save up to have money to take one to the vet (must be an exotic/avian vet too)!

  • I am thinking of buying black capped lorikeet. Can they listen to Sparkys noises or do they produce a different sound?

  • I wish my Lorikeet was this friendly, mine is completely psychotic and deranged and bites me if I go anywhere near him :-P

  • Lol serious? i thought they were all cute and cuddly haha

  • Oh no way, mine is completely evil and argumentative, it's biting my foot right now as I type, no word of lie :-D It has such a nasty bite

  • LMAO dont get me wrong our sparky can bite too lol, i agree they have a very sharp bite, but our birds we have noticed only tend to bite if something frightens them

  • @eclipse0019 haha mines half and half. He gets bitey when he's horny, he's all cuddley and loves a scratch and kiss then he gets riled up and chases my feet and bites. I just have to watch for when he's had enough and he goes back in his house.

  • @dannykanes

My Rainbow lorikeet bites somtimes too but she can be real sweet when your nice to her, let your lori out of his cage more and play with him and pat him if he likes that, he shouldn't be so psycotic then

  • Cute video! Lorikeets are such characters besides being so colourful! The fly wild in flocks around where we live in Australia!

  • I just thought I would let you know, that I will definitely be getting a lorikeet, My godmother got a baby one today his name is Tommi, and he is super CUTE!, I'll post a video up soon =].

  • Oh good to hear :) You will get so much enjoyment from him/her, our birds have made us so happy they make us laugh every single day. Please do post a video soon would love to see him/ her. Im so happy for you :) :) xo

  • Thanks for the info, I am hoping to get one for my daughter, but hubby thinks they're loud birds. Now I can prove him wrong lol :D thanks again.

  • Uhm, Lori's have VERY loud voices. Mine screech when they are seperated from eachother. I just got them & will work on that, but don't expect ANY new parrot to be as well behaved as the trained one in this video

  • I have 3 Rainbow Lorikeets, they are quiet all day, only screech a few times in the morning about 8:30am, but rest of the day quiet, sometimes you don't even know they're there. Mine are so cute, and never bite or anything. I have 1 trained and 2 not.

  • Hi, what a gorgeous little bird, how smart!

I am thinking of getting a lorikeet, are they really loud birds and are they easy to take care of?

    Thanks

  • Thank you yeah he is pretty smart hehe. They are not really loud i mean they can be on occasion of course but most of the time they are placid quiet creatures lol. They are very easy to take care of but do require alot of attention, like any pet i guess. They call them clowns of the bird world these lorrys and its not hard to see why haha. They seriously are just like little kids, very playful and loving. Hope you get one :) xo

  • Hi :) just popped by to see Sparky again. Ash ran up and gave him a kiss on the screen just now. I think she's in love. I have some vids of Ash, just have to figure out how to get them onto this computer... and onto youtube! Hope all is well.

  • AWw let me know when you put em up would love to see them :) :) xo

  • wow ther koolvlookin

  • I played this video and my green-naped lory Rikko was talking to your Sparky and giving kisses haha. Your Sparky is just beautiful! :)

  • My lorikeet "rusty" loves sparky! he sits there and plays with the speaker and chatters away to glory when I put sparky on for him! I think ill make a video of him interacting with sparky! its awesome!

  • Oh that is so awesome to hear :) Somebody actually did do that lol made a video of their rainbow lorry listening to our sparky on you tube. I think it was called mr jingles listens to sparky on you tube haha. I came by it on accident and was shocked lol. Cheers xo

  • i want those birds i only have a quaker *sigh*

  • Pet birds are caged to keep them out of trouble duh!Mine live in an aviary during the day but I bring them in at night because we have feral cats, owls and storms just come out of nowhere.Sparky looks very healthy and happy,I'd know because I have 2 rainbows & 2 scalys.I'd like mine to talk but because they are paired,I don't think they will:(They still chat to us though.

  • just thought id write to say my scaly lorikeet rocky loves the way sparky talks he starts fluffin up screamin and running up and down my desk haha and talks along with sparky...to all the ppl who said hes cramped etc..it doesnt matter as long as hes always out of the cage and gets some sort of exercise he should be alright

  • Ash is obsessed with Maccas! If we have it she'll pin her eyes and fluff up and stick her head in every bag. I try not to let her have anything though! Maybe the occasional fry. But if she has fries she becomes agressive to anyone but me and bites them really hard!!! I don't make vids yet but I should. I have such a menagery here to shoot!

  • AND I have to say that people shouldn't write such rude comments! It's a fact that many birds are cept caged as pets and we should be proud of the people who actually take their birds out to train/ communicate with/ exercise and play with their birds instead of having them for show. Oh and Ashling thinks Sparky's a real good talker!

  • Thanks for the comment! You should put Ashling up on you tube, id love to see her :) Yeah our birds are out of their cages alot of the time, they love to jump around on the back table and investigate things.

  • My baby girl Ashling has learnt to say hello and to make cute growling noises and whistle a few tunes. She's also learnt flap her wings on command, shake hands, come when called and when you tap your hand, she'll fluff up and hop around, pinning her eyes.

  • its fat loool

  • oops, I've just read the earlier comments and your explanation. Maybe put him in a larger aviary. He's looking a bit cramped:)

  • *sigh*

  • I love these birds. We have a whole family of them who come to visit us every day and feed off our native shrubs. Why is this one caged? So sad. Birds are meant to be free to fly??

  • I can't hear what he's saying over my lovebirds' screeching!

  • i have a red collar lorikeet (almost the same) and i love him to pieces i love watching birds who have been kept in good homes and are loved.. and to laricalaricalarica thats like saying how dare you have a dog or a fish... ITS A PET AND ITS OBVIOUSLY LOVED

  • I couldnt agree with you more K3L5TR. Our birds are spoilt rotten lol and get alot of attention. They are very happy birds as you can see in the videos lol. Thanks for the comment :)

  • beautiful birds, australian wildlife is something we should be proud of, we have the most unique wildlife in the world. good on ya for posting this, awesome stuff

  • hes gorgeous! i took three weeks to name my little baby and finally decided on "Ashling" which means dream or vision. hehehe. Ash is learning quickly! Sparky's awesome!

  • i had a rainbow lorikeet, theyre beautiful birds. mine flew away a little bit ago and this video makes me miss her even more, she used just follow everyone round the house and was happy to just sit on our shoulders. nice video

  • Hows it going mate!!! thats so cool

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing :-)

  • Thanks guys! Yeah we cant get enough of our lil mates, every single day they make us laugh :)

  • Gorgeous bird!

  • how dare u keep that beautiful bird behind bars???

  • for ur info hes been a kept bird from a baby (not originally by us) and would never survive if released now. Hes a very happy lil soul..... unlike some :P

  • Gee I am constantly amazed by the narrowmindedness of people, gee what about people who keep snakes, are you saying they should release them too? give me a break, these animals would never survive in the wild and they are been looked after so bloody well, go and take your comments elsewhere where they are needed, perhaps to greenpeace.

  • cool bird =]
