Apple will cover your iPhone as long as you didn't cause the abuse (ie. dropping it!). My iPhone is getting shipped back as I had to send it in because the power button wasn't working. The Apple tech support woman I talked to was very nice and got the problem solved fast. Within 20 minutes, she set up for the repair box to be sent. I received that in 3 days. I put my phone in and sent it off and they received it that night. Now i'm waiting to get it or a refurb back. Hope this helps!

Ok, I got my iPhone 3G back on Thursday Nov. 12th. Sorry for not updating you guys earlier, my grandmas funeral was on Monday. But they actually just sent me a brand new iPhone 3G 8GB. I'm ecstatic! The serial number begins with 5K which as of this year, means a new iPhone 3G. Apple customer service was excellent. No problems at all!

Refurb is basically new. Everything is working, not damaged, and not scratched. If you buy it new, it just gives you the satisfaction that it's new but refurb is just as "new" as a new one.

yeah but a refurb "had" a problem before and it was repaired and reconditioned....

Which makes it even more stable than before after conditioning and checking. The outer casing is entirely new with OEM housing. So are many other components.

Actually, USPS is better then both, as I was implying. USPS is the only service with free Saturday delivery. It's all I use, I wouldn't even think of using UPS or FedEx's slow ground service, USPS's Priority options deliver in 1-3 days and are far cheaper, especially with their Flat Rate options. Even their International is cheaper.

$69, but you can get it for $42 on eBay, and have the AppleCare code sent to you by email instead of waiting for a global-warming box with just paper inside. I bought it from there and I saved some cash on protection :)
