It was a Sony TRV-108 (I think). It's basically an old Digital-8 camcorder with firewire. I hooked the firewire up to an old mac laptop. On the laptop I had "Security spy" which is a program that can make timelapse videos. I built a box out of plexiglass to protect the camera from the elements. To try to eliminate glare I took some aluminum tape and taped up the sides, except for where the lens is.
awesome

What type of camera did you use for this and how was it mounted / protected from the elements?

Thanks. It can be surprisingly difficult to keep a timelapse running for a year. :) Not to mention cutting it into something that isn't a hour long!
