  • Thanks for loving this. i love the Meili snow mountain range & revisited last autumn enroute to tibet. It's a beautiful route & if u r interested, check out my slideshows "2008 enroute Yunnan-Tibet" parts 1&2 under my youtube channel.

i'm sure you'll find yr Shangrila one day too.

My FB acct is probably defunct my now due inactivity :) u can continue to leave me msgs here! :)

  • @loveyunnan Hi I plan to visit Yunnan and enroute to Tibet, what transport did you take from Shangrila to tibet?

  • @pigcanfly007

hi, if you are a citizen of China or has proper residence permits and on a budget, you can travel by public buses all the way from shangrila to Lhasa, but if you are a foreign traveler, then you'll have to engage a travel agent in shangrila(Zhongdian) who will get you the Tibet Travel Permit, supply a car/land cruiser plus a mandatory guide for your entry into the tibetan region.Check points are situated from Mangkang onwards so it's not too easy to try to sneak w/o permits.

  • @loveyunnan Thanks for your reply, I am a Singapore Chinese will there check on me if I look like them? :)

My alternative route would be from Lijiang > DaoCheng Yading> Chengdu, is it easy to take a bus route?

  • I never give any comments in YouTube so far until I found this video and I love it ! Now here I am ... :)

Your photos are awesome, I will also go there, to China from north to south, also until I find my Shangri-La there ... :) I will definitely visit the 3 places that you mentioned before ... :)

Do you have any FaceBook account may be ? :) I myself like to do independent travelling to anywhere ... any place ... :)

Thanx for sharing the video ... :)

  • To erictjie: i'm sorry for the late reply. It's easy to travel around in Yunnan even by public transport if you are able to read chinese, or else plenty of travel agencies organise local tours in Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Zhongdian Depending on how much time u have, personally i would recommend Lugu Lake , the Meili Snow Mountains, the Yuanyang rice terraces as a must see, Yunnan has many other beautiful places & their minority tribes are a draw. Get a guide book and check them out.

  • Nice video and beutiful music, my wife and I did this trip 2 years ago and it is unforgetable. Love yunnan provence.

  • thank you for yr comment, indeed one can't help loving beautiful Yunnan, i only hope tourism will not destroy its beauty ..

  • Could you give me advice regarding traveling to yunan. I am going there next month by myself and it is easy to find local tour . any places i should visit in yunan?

  • Bring a Lonely Planet and you'll be fine (I had "Southwest China").

For budget rooms, go to Kevin's Trekker Inn in Shangri-la, it's really nice and they're very friendly and helpful. Rent a bike and cycle around. If you want the real adventure, go to Yubeng village near Deqin. The driving was a quite scary though haha!

  • Great Teresa, visited Meili last summer and it was so nice to see some fond memories and your impression for the trip.

  • thanks for yr comments. i'll be back to visit the Meili Snow mountains again this autumn, just can't help loving yunnan :)

  • Hi, thank you for yr comments. This is wat the lyrics of this song roughly mean:

    i spread forth my wings

    carrying with me a hope

    soaring over strange cities

flying to the destination of my dreams (to be continued)

  • Very good. thank you.

I would like to know the lirics of teh song in English

  • (cont'n of lyrics)

    In the vast wilderness

    i smelled its fragrance

From the richness of the earth

    i was nourished

To spin silk, the silkworms feed on mulberry leaves

To propagate, the flowers bloom (to be continued)

  • cont'd lyrics part3:

    i trespassed

    forests and mountains

    i treaded on

    white snowy paths

    i saw the beauty

    of the mountains and valleys

    And heard the breath

    of a growing earth...

  • thank you infinitely
