I like the series A Song Of Ice and Fire better because it's more realistic with the characters and plotline, I wouldn't suggest it for anyone younger than 15 though.

@Darkcsx I don't hate Murtagh, quite the opposite actually. Like he says, he does the best with what he has been given. I can only feel sad for him...maybe Eragon and Saphira will end up freeing Murtagh and Thorn but considering the oath Eragon swore when Hrothgar was murdered, I have a bad feeling the only freedom they will ever get is in death.

Since the first part of Solembum's prophecy "...When the time comes and you need a weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa Tree." came true in Brisingr I believe that the second part "Then, when all seems lost and your power seems insufficient, go to the rock of Kuthian and speak your name to open the Vault of Souls."
means that Eragon must go to Du Fells Nasgaroth, find the rock of Kuthien, speak his true name to "open the Vault of Souls" or to unlock a secret stash of Eldunari that the wild dragons disgorged before death. This would make Eragon much more evenly matched against Galbatorix in the fourth book and I think that this just fits in too well so Chris Paolini must have that planned for book four.

yeah it is like star wars, but a lot of stories follow the same archetypes. Also if you look closely and decide not to be a retard and just look at the plot, you will find that the actual personalities of the inheritance characters are totally different from. the ones in LOTR,Harry Potter, or Star wars. The plot lines are similar, but not the characters. and besides they make for a decent read. too bad the movie sucked though

I just finished reading 'Eragon' and to be honest, I quite liked the book. Yes sure, on some parts you can tell he was a new writer but still, it was good. I just want to say to all you that are saying "He stole the plot"... Maybe he did, but I think a book is like a chord in some ways. They've all been invented.. Right? Well that's just my opinion. In Old Norse Brisingr actually means "glowing" or "flaming". His books are all right they're entertaining but they're not classics. They're not well written. I wouldn't compare him to Tolkien, Lewis or Morris.
well, nothing can be compared to Tolkien or Lewis. They're both legendry writers, but you have to admit, Paolini'sbooks are captivating. ANd for the people who are younger and can't exsactly get Tolkien's books (like me) they are fitting.
I still don't like him though. He's compared his overtly simplistic writing style to Tolkien at his best. Tolkien ranged from plain english to the archaic. Paolini can't even use said in a sentence.

@etheain eh dont say that it takes time, writing was something i always did out of pure inspiration from all the great books ive read and then it was also alot of me wanting to create my own world and my own story. i learned how to write from reading... alot and i think the reason im so good at writing is because i love to do it, i love to create. and yeah sure i might send ya a few short stories ive written, just gotta find them on my external first :p

yeah it is like star wars, but a lot of stories follow the same archetypes. Also if you look closely and decide not to be a retard and just look at the plot, you will find that the actual personalities of the inheritance characters are totally different from. the ones in LOTR,Harry Potter, or Star wars. The plot lines are similar, but not the characters. and besides they make for a decent read. too bad the movie sucked though

What has nothing to do with Star Wars in his story? Eragon - Luke, Brom - Obi-Wan, Galbatorix - Emperor, Empire - Empire, Varden - Rebels... and it goes on... Almost everything that happened in the first book, happened in Star Wars IV.

I just finished reading 'Eragon' and to be honest, I quite liked the book. Yes sure, on some parts you can tell he was a new writer but still, it was good. I just want to say to all you that are saying "He stole the plot"... Maybe he did, but I think a book is like a chord in some ways. They've all been invented.. Right? Well that's just my opinion. OH if someone doesn't know what a chord is, it's like usually 3 or more notes hit on a piano, guitar, etc. They've all been invented... Thanks :)

In Old Norse Brisingr actually means "glowing" or "flaming". His books are all right they're entertaining but they're not classics. They're not well written. I wouldn't compare him to Tolkien, Lewis or Morris.
