I'm a child of the 80s and 90s and i love all of them shows. And as i watched them again now, i realized this is one of the most kick ass TV opening for a cartoon shows of 80s but of all time. Period.

Was this made in Japan, it looks more western style, I remember gaiking and some other huge ass robot cartoons but this one looks weird. Also power rangers ces into mind I guess they ripped the megazord idea from voltron.
Alright a few things here, 1-That narrator sounds just like Optimus, 2-Whle giant robots are cool, and anyone who says otherwise has clearly never stopped to imagine what their life would be like if they could ride one to work using the same highway as their boss and "accidentally" trip over his car. But who the hell would want to pilot a robot that not only takes FIVE people to activate, but one where even after you turn it on you can only control ONE limb! Stupid Power Rangers...
I Miss This Cartoon. It was one of my MOST Favorites on t.v. when I was a kid. :) They don't make cartoons this good anymore. can't stand sponge bob or that stupid purple dinosaur...what's his face. or many of them that are on today. I was born in the 80s and not to sound bias but the cartoons today, they are rather frail in comparison. The emotional connection just doesn't exist today. You've seen one cartoon today and you've seem them all.

The new Voltron Force show is quite good and at least follows the original story line... but it adds a bit that might take some getting used to. The only part I object to is, even though they kept the anthem in there, it's nothing in comparison to it's original. This one still gets my blood pumping! Let's Go Voltron Force!!!!

I Miss This Cartoon. It was one of my MOST Favorites on t.v. when I was a kid. :) They don't make cartoons this good anymore. can't stand sponge bob or that stupid purple dinosaur...what's his face. or many of them that are on today. I wish they'd make cartoons like this still. Much better for kids to watch this than the garbage today. that's My opinion.

This looks and just feels better than the terrible trailer, which they call "Voltron Force."
I was born in the 80s and not to sound bias but the cartoons today, they are rather frail in comparison. The emotional connection just doesn't exist today. You've seen one cartoon today and you've seem them all.
No wonder Hollywood has been on a remake 80s frenzy.

Super Sentai series, the original version of Power Rangers series came out in 1975. Golion, the original version of Lion Voltron came out in 1981. and both were made by the same Japanese movie company named Toei. plus there were tons of this kind of anime in the 1970s. Gatchaman (1972), Combattler V (1976), Voltes V (1977), etc.
if you have never seen any Super Sentai, look at my favorites (Sunao).
and if you live in US, search "uncensored voltron".

@demonangel918 I used to watch the show as a kid, but I forgot what the green one sounded like. I just find the smart nerdy type of girls to be pure HAWTNESS! And, he kinda sorta maybe resembles the smart nerdy type...kinda! ;-)

The new Voltron Force show is quite good and at least follows the original story line... but it adds a bit that might take some getting used to. The only part I object to is, even though they kept the anthem in there, it's nothing in comparison to it's original. This one still gets my blood pumping! Let's Go Voltron Force!!!!

Hello, I'm looking for the name of a very similar anime show to this one... there was a team of guys and each guy had a robot - a car, a fighter plane, a mechanized horse and together they could combine and form a blue robot...
