Kinda short instructional video yet very meaty with insights. I keep browsing this almost everyday just so I could learn by heart. Yeahbsolutely, I will follow your advice. Please do more of this sort for the benefit of many christian worship leaders. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH. More of God's power, love and glory in you,
@andreasmariosetiawan absolutely they can. I've found that someone who has a heart for the Lord, and walks close with him ALWAYS trumps over skill, no matter how great. There are also few with "good" voices, just trained and untrained voices. I fully condone doing your best to improve your skills, but if the person genuinely can't sing, and God has called them to lead, then yea.
this guy must make a book, because he grapples my attention in leading the people in worship, this is all true, I've experienced it when I'm on the stage. I read your article man about "burnout", yes it is true. hoping you will continue uploading helpful videos especially for worship leaders.
@StuxUp1 I just posted the introduction to our brand new how to lead worship video series. You can check that out on my page, and stay tuned for more videos. We'll be talking about a lot of different topics, and hopefully giving a lot more free resources! We have a lot of great tools on our channel! I encourage you to go check out our new videos, and see what you find! God bless, and thank you for the support!
thats what our worship leader does, he always distracts me and the other youth, by bashing us....saying how we're only here to worship and stuff, and i get that is true, but he always seems to discourage us, and our youth group seems to be getting smaller, and also when i feel the spirit start to move, he just finishes the worship service like nothing is happening.....and as of rite now He is the one leading our youth group too, cuz our old youth pastor was called to a different church
@Jesus1000Freak Well that's too bad to hear. I'm sorry that that is happening. I try not to take sides, especially when I'm not there, but I would highly recommend you pray for him. Sometimes I accidentally do the same things you just described to me when I get overly busy or when there are things bothering me from another area of my life. Maybe you could offer to help him? Be creative, and I'm sure you'll think of some great solutions? Try not to get a bad attitude either, and I'll pray for you
I am currently working on a worship book, and am in the process of speaking with publishers. If I do decide to get this book published, I'll try to get discounted prices, or free copies sent out. Pray that I'm able to present them to worship leaders and teams in need without charging
my biggest problem is just not knowing what to say when i get up there & how to say it... bcuz i feel like over & over just saying the same old thing " Lets praise God this morning church!" is just boring... but i don't talk that much onstage bcuz half the time i forget what to say..
@NatPradoTheory That is a problem we all have at least once. Either find something that feels good to you, like opening with prayer, or switch it up every week, like having your youth group do a skit first, or having an instrumental intro or something. Be creative and see what you like. Remember, there is no wrong way to do it, just more successful and less successful. Stay tuned for me to finish my book: "Unfinished". It's an expansive guide to leading worship. Stay strong!
@worldmovement thankyou, but sometimes i don't know what the heck i am doing! lol somedays i have really good days where words are just comming out into forms of prayers that i didn't even plan. other days i feel like i didn't do enough spritual work through the week to let a strong reflection manifest in worship service..
@NatPradoTheory That made a lot of sense. If that's genuinely the case, you might want to consider the possibility of co-leading with someone, if at all possible. Or you could try a prayer meeting during the week, or an accountability group. But whatever you decide to do, never forget God doesn't expect you or your ministry to be perfect. Sometimes you might not think that you connect well in your worship, but we all have down days. Just make sure you don't overwork yourself. Does that help?
I am so happy that you mentioned that a worship leader should avoid beating people in the head about what they should be doing .. that is so popular in many churches and it interupts the move of the Spirit.
We are to lead (encourage) people into worship not force them.
Your video is pretty much the gist of it .. Good job.
This is great! The Lord just raised me up to be a worship leader and have a praise and worship team--I never sang before in public or in front of people in my life--but God has anointed me to do it and we're really sounding good! I'm always wanting to learn about worship so this is excellent information that I will share with my team via Facebook right now! Thank you so much! It's very informative!
