  • YOU DONT MEMORIZE TAB, BUT YA KINDASOUND LIKE YOU ATE SOME ACID(TAB).

  • Bless you,,you are so humble,,so nice to see!!

  • But the song starts with two other chords ( and still when the song tells: " . . . So please belive in me . . . " )

    C/D xx0010 and

    D x00232

    Am I right ?

  • Obviously you're a natural... very impressive for the fact you'd been playing guitar for just a year! And even though you claim not to be a teacher, you're a natural at that too!

  • Cheers for sharing this, really helpful in crackin this great song, thanx again.

    Atb....Rob

  • wow! you're great! ^^

  • Thank for the alt fingering, I have some bad knuckles on my left hand , this is playable for me now .:)

  • Hey Zippy.

Yeah. It also has four legs.

  • thank you i have been ttrying to play this song a long time and could not make the right chords my fingers dont work as good as they use to but this is very simple way to play it and sounds good to me cant wait to try it live

  • Prost ! Dein Johannes aus Frankfurt

  • Nice work, but if you want to play the real version try this: _ Intro: Dsus4 D5 Gmaj7 Cmaj7 Gmaj7 Cmaj7 _ Verse: Gmaj7 Cmaj7 _ Chorus: Em7 Gmaj7 _ Dsus4 x00233 D5 x00235 Gmaj7 XXX432 Cmaj7 XX5453 Em7 XXX987 _ And of course feel the rythym, strum it with the same funky strum pattern as Gerry and Dewey do and you got it.

  • Will somebody give her another vodka!

  • this is helpful love it,like ur humble way of sharing this, TIN MAN alwz 1 of my favs, TNX !

  • Wow... Thanks so much but you are too kind!

... if I really was "humble" I would stay the hell away from youtube in the first place - on the other hand, posting public videos has been very humbling lol

  • una lata...

  • ¿Qué usted espera para libre?

  • very helpful. you may not be able to play but after viewing this video I could play TINMAN thanks

  • Get her another Gin...hehehe

  • When I recorded this video I'd been playing guitar for about a year SO CUT ME SOME SLACK - at least I don't insist on singing loudly off-key to cover my crappy chord changes ;.)

  • @stellabloo Ain't they such cards. I appreciate the lesson and will use it too.

  • What kind of guitar is that, and what sort of price?

  • That guitar is a Takamine G34 - my second guitar because my first was a piece of no-name crap from ebay - and I got it out the door for $350 tax included.

I started using steel strings which give it better sound and better action imho.

  • E-minor9th, now I'm confused...

    Just kidding...lol

    Good job, from Tinmanwahog

  • get her another vodka

  • no chingue doña me va hacer chillar

Con todo respeto doña cheque su mail

  • mmm que el traductor me dice no le gustó esto

Lamentable, no pensó hacerle gritar -

adivine por eso que esto es una lección LIBRE;.)

  • Hi, I just stumbled upon you site. I guess I do some comparing to my own version at 'RobbyLmp'. I think there SHOULD be more people showing some basics, as you did. I received one comment on mine and it was from someone who didn't like my version. Cool. Lots of others do. I enjoyed your explanation of your version. I don't know about you but it sometimes takes hours and hours to put on just one video, and that's accomplishment for me. Keep it up. ROB.

  • Thanks! I listened to your version and I like it!

Oddly enough the lessons and the demos of the easy lessons at guitarnoise are the most popular videos - everybody wants to learn guitar for free - if I didn't have a day job too lol I would be dying as a songwriter out here ;.)

  • Thanks for putting it out there for us non techno nonpurist just plain make you happy music lovers

  • Resci77 no need to be obnoxious because you're wrong too.....I have to disagree with you and it'sstilljustme on the chords. The main chords in the chorus are not an Am9 and Bm7 . It's just a simple Cmaj7 to Gmaj7...you can easliy see it in the videos of America posted on youtube. The notes in the Am9 are just notes from the c maj scale..so it does fit as A minor is the relative minor of Cmaj. The intro you are using is also wrong. You can also see Dewing playing this on the youtube videos.

  • Ok. Goog job Stella! Five * for u. Go on!

  • Thanks Robert!

  • It was good that you made the effort to share this. Many players are starting out or they would like to have a "basic" framework for songs so they can get the foundation and build to their style.

Remember that sheet music is NOT generally the chords and charts written BY the performers.

In very rare cases are the charts the exact same fingering or voicing that the original artist used. It serves as a guide if nothing more. These are transcribed by someone in the publishing company.

  • Thanks - yes, my thought is that a truly musically-gifted person would be able to play the whole thing by ear - but alas, I have no claim to musical genius.

But hopefully after 30 years of playing piano I would have learned SOMETHING.

But while playing the guitar, I'm not playing or even attempting to play the sheet music as written (!) IMHO this is a very melodic, yet simple and recognizable tune that I had a "burning desire to share" ;.)

  • I'm sorry, but you're not a good teacher.

I don't think that Dewey & Gerry enjoy your way of teaching.

The song has a simple but other chords.

    1. Cmaj7

    2. Gmaj7

    3. A...

    with very simple variations

  • Thank you for your input. I would just like to clarify a few things:

I am working from the authorized sheet music.

I am not receiving any money for this or any other video.

I DO want to encourage people to move away from monolithic brand trendo-pop music and start making music of their own. I think Dewey & Gerry would approve.

Really, my goal is not to be a guitar teacher but to develop my own skills to the point where I can perform my own original songs ;)

  • shes just showing her talents Gee give her a break pal! Nobodys perfect why your think theres erasers on the end of pencils?? everybody makes mistakes and learn from them when your just learning something your going to make a few mistakes

  • It's not true the sequence of chords.

  • ddnt understand u..

  • Sorry, I don't claim to be a guitar teacher! only that people watching my videos are usually trying to learn themselves - and learning guitar is still a good thing ;)

  • Try doing GM7 with 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th finger on 1st string 2nd fret, 2nd string 3rd fret, 3rd string 4th fret and 4th string 5th fret...respectively. 5th string is muted and the thumb on 6th string 3rd fret...better effect and correct. Do CM7 as a bar chord. Intro is D7sus-D-GM7-GM7. The chorus chords are Am9-Bm7.GM7(3 single stums on Bm7 and then GM7..theses two chords sound similar but distinct from each other). You'll like the way it will sound and that's the way Bunnel plays it. Enjoy.

  • Wow...we have 2 things in common. Doing a Tin Man video and on my my space page I have a song called "Stellablue"...mmmm? But Tin Man has more then 3 chords;) Good job though;)~peace~Steven

  • ... well thank you ... however you are young, single and have spades of talent, so there we differ lol

You have to let me know what the "extra" chords are tho; I took the song right out of my 70's sheet music anthology, so am mystified.

Stella Blue BTW is a classic Greatful Dead tune and somewhat of a musical creed to live by: "dust off those rusty strings just... one... more... time..." But would def be interested to hear your version ;)

  • Thank you - glad you found the lesson useful!

Not exactly advanced knowledge alas - I have musically talented friends so do know the difference lol

Other than hacking at a mandolin a few times I would credit my [limited] skills to the fact that

    a) it's not rocket science, really

    b) hopefully 30 yrs of playing music would have taught me SOMETHING ;)

  • really nice job! .^)

  • Nice Job Stella
