  • Do those crayfish mix with stingrays?

  • Happy and healthy

  • @MrHoney2U :) oh and check out my most recent vid on my channel im curious what you think about my severum!

  • @BingX14 Very nice fish. If they looked that good at my LFS I would have gotten one.

  • why did you get rid of your firemouths?

  • @rexlinkfish i had them a while ago, i bred firemouths for a little while then i just wanted to do other things with the tank

  • @BingX14 oh ok im uploading a vid of my new 50 gallon its not all the way set up but still:)

  • @EGXV a balanced combo of hikari cichlid gold pellets, new life spectrum pellets, frozen bloodworms and frozen baby shrimp/krill

  • Hi nice fish I have a very similar setup but my local pet store say the blue lobster is not compatible with other fish. Can you please tell me how yours is with the other fish thanks

  • @1stdanclaire hey, well the blue lobster is an electric blue crayfish but its the same thing. They grow 7-8 inches actually. The ones in this vid are quite young and small and really dont pose much of a threat at all to other fish unless the fish were very small tetras like neons or cardinals. However, a full grown adult would be quite an active threat to small and medium sized fish. I dont have them anymore because i didnt want them to start hunting fish during the night.

  • hey where do you buy your firemouths they are very colorfull!!

  • Nice vids im subscribing

  • um i have another question i did other research and found they will not do well with guppies and those other fish but how long does it take to grow them to full size? i want to get some and to breed them.

  • well i have a question would firemouths do well with guppy's and molly's and a couple of tetras? i have like a 50 gallon i think. with a bunch of bred guppy's and mollys and some storebought tetras.

  • dude. I love the fish. I'm thinking about getting some. Could i put those fish in with 2 baby oscars(about 2 to 3 inches)

  • @dagan430 yeah, but introduce them EARLY before the Oscar thinks its food.

  • I have a 55 gallon tank with a school of silver dollars,a FM and a ropefish.

I'm hoping to get another ropefish and a ast.chichlid.

  • I'm looking to upgrade to a 55-gallon tank in a few months and i was wondering what fish to put in it. I know that i want a pair of firemouths. I want a parrot cichlid and some convicts. how many of the convicts could i put in with the parrot cichlid and the two firemouths?

  • how do you know the difference between male and female, any color differences?

  • Blood parrot cichlids aren't fertile as far as I know. They're a hybrid, not a species that occurs naturally in nature.

  • Will the firemouth get along with my Angelicus Botia, Rainbow Shark, And my Buenos Aires Tetras?

  • @CarBoNVICarBoNVI yeah, that sounds like a really nice mix of fish!

  • how big do these fish get? i have also a blue acara and wanted to know if they do good together.. I also have a 200 gallon

  • @Fishkeeper9090 Male firemouth cichlids will reach 6 inches and on occasion close to 7 inches. Females usually stay around 5 inches. They would make great tankmates for a blue acara and 200 gallons is more than enough room to house many firemouths

  • hey do u know if firemouths like around there eyes is it suppose to yellow or nt

  • wow, those are nice lookin firemouths

  • hey i just got 2 juvinile firemouths and was wondering if they grow quickly

  • @Mrdynamite777 well they aren't the fastest growing cichlids out there. My female took about 2 years to reach her max adult size.

  • str8 hd

  • were did you get your lobster?

  • @HobbyKing1000 one of the guys that works at my local fish store breeds them at home and gave me a few for free!

  • @BingX14 lucky so are they good with other fish?

  • lol, the thing is, male BPs are infertile. Female blood parrots lay eggs and are usually fertilized by convict cichlids. People have recently found a few male BPs to be fertile but they use some kind of hormones to do that. unfortunately for us, we cant find those :P

I have a Female BP who lays eggs very often but until last week, i didnt have a convict. but lets see what happens now.

  • That adult is has amazing colors

  • how big do fms get and how long does it take them to reach that size cause i have 2 one i got around winter time and another about a month ago. one is4 inches other 2 and a half.

  • Damn, those new firemouths make mine look like crap. Those are some good looking one!

  • most blood parrot males are sterile

  • well i have 3 firemouths and a few other cichlids the firemouths about 5 to 6 inches and i have look up that you can tell its a male because the male is slightly larger and it has a point on the dorsal fin and can be very very aggressive around spawning time, so you should be able to tell no mater what age they are by looking closely to the dorsal fin

  • thats lovely

  • how big are the juvies now

  • @superfishman123 about 3.5 inches

  • @BingX14 I got a firemouth cichlid about the same time as you and he is like 3.5 inches as well

  • Is that blue one your bamboo shrimp? If not what is it?

  • @Ben24soccer nope, the bamboo shrimp is red and they doesnt posses claws. the blue guy in this vid us an electric blue crayfish. scientific name: Procambrius Alleni

  • Femalecichlids usally accept only mates that are bigger than them so the younger one s will breed together probably

  • yeah, the young male is already showing interest in the young female and vice versa

  • If i were you what i would keep would keep the fire mouths blood parrot cichlid and the silver dollars. Andgetanotherblood parrotcichlidwhichwillprobablyonly get 8 inchesleave thedollarsoutactuallyjust3 firmuthsandbloodparrootsandmaybe 4 sds its yourtankbutthat isconly asuggestion

  • Do you still have your blood parrot cichlid in there

  • excellent video quality.. your fm's are cool

  • Thanks! can't wait until they are old enough to breed!

  • Dude I think you might of bought two more females.

  • really? idk one of them is growing a lot faster but they're both eating the same. and the larger one chases the other one around. the larger one is way more colorful and isn't as shy, it also has a larger face and mouth. All of those characteristics say male, but i could be wrong, its very hard when they are at this size. If you're looking for long, pointed fins that males have, those grow in when the male hits about 3" so this guy won't have them yet.

  • These Are Awesome

  • thanks man, yeah it really looks like these new FM's are going to look awesome as adults, i can't wait for them to be old enough to breed!

  • Oh i know i cant wait either i have like 4 FM's and there like about that size

  • nice bule lobster

  • the best shrimp ever!! very nice tank!!! have they any problem with the black =gravel?

    soz 4 my english..

  • this is a shrimp or a crawfish?

  • thanks! this guy is actually a crayfish but i do have a bamboo shrimp in the tank, just not in this video. And no there hasnt been any problems with the crayfish and the black gravel, he really likes to dig and make burrows in the gravel

  • So after all of the swapping and adding and removing fish what's your tank stocking at now?

  • -3 firemouth cichlid (1 male, 2 females i think)

    -1 blood parrot cichlid

    -6 Silver Dollar tetras

-1 electric blue crayfish (procambrius alleni)

    -1 bamboo shrimp

and i also have a small group of bloodfin tetras and serpae tetras but once the new firemouth cichlids are old enough to breed im going to once again change the fish stock to give the FM's more room.

  • how big do these guys grow? and what is that blue crayfish? or lobster called? aha

wouldnt it ever catch and eat the fish? or just starve? thanks.

  • firemouth cichlids will grow an average of 5-6 inches. Females will are usually at the smaller end and wont grow larger than 5 inches, while males can reach 6.5 inches. And as for the blue crayfish (procambrius alleni), i feed it sinking algae wafers and pellets along with everything i feed my fish such as treats like bloodworms and brine shrimp. I keep him nice and full so he doesnt try to "go fishing" aside from that he just scavenges around cleaning up left over food at the bottom

  • but although i keep him well fed, just by natural instincts, they will at least try to catch smaller fish as food, but for now, The only fish in the tank that are at risk of being caught are my small tetras (serpae tetras & bloodfin tetras). But so far everything has worked out fine. these crayfish will grow to about 6 inches but they grow pretty slowly compared to the fish. the firemouths and the silver dollars are to aggressive & too large to be targets

  • ill remove the cray to a diff. tank if he starts causing problems
