One problem though: Once it gets to the "I hear Jerusalem Bells a ringin'" part, the volume just goes apeshit and you can't hear Morton Harket's vocals. Fix, NAO.

(con't) Velvet should have done for them what Ordinary World did for Duran Duran. Most a-ha albums are inconsistant but all of them have some total gems.

yep. I know. I've loved a-ha since the beginning but Scoundrel Days was my first. I have every cd often having to special order imports. When Chris Martin first piped up (i believe in Q) about his admiration of a-ha it was right after 'Rush' went huge (largely due to Clocks). I remember thinking maybe a-ha would finally get their due. I'm the only American male heterosexual I know who likes them beyond Take On Me.

not as good as the clocks one but ok. after hearing the clocks/take on me mashup i basically decided martin had ripped the song off. It was too perfect. Also a friend of mine pointed out that keane is todays air supply. i think these vids prove coldplay is todays a-ha.

Nice concept; but the Coldplay is massively drowning out the A-ha vocals!

Yeah I know, right in the middle right? I did a version where that section of the vocals was pumped up but it was too loud. I couldn't find a happy balance for some reason. Part of the problem is the software I'm using...I'll have to get a better hang of it..or switch over to another one once I get a better idea of the whole process ;)

Less to do with volume/gain and more to do with equalisation and efficient use of stereo. Like from 1:14 onwards the music is far too bassy *and* trebley from the strings etc!

Yeah, I'm using Audacity right now. Just trying to get the hang of it before I get into other programs like Audition. In Audacity there's a gain control, I'm not sure how to change specifical levels yet..it seemed I could only control the overal gain of a track...and by increments of 3! So a given track would either get too distorted or too quiet...sigh...I've been using it for a few days but I'll get it eventually ;)
