  • I'm not sure if a lot of people know this, but there is an effort dedicated to restoring another Nickel Plate Mikado in the form of NKP 624.

  • @dragonpullman when will she oprate again the 624

  • @Strasburg1991 A specific date hasn't been set yet so it might take a while. The group who is dedicated to restoring NKP 624 is called NWIRPS and their president is named Kevin Heggi. The group is selling T-Shirts for $17.80 (including shipping and handling) that support the restoration of the locomotive. I contacted a guy named Ryan Kertis to get my NKP 624 T-Shirt.

  • when was this video shot and i really do hope they get it going again i was a little boy when it broke down and now i am 15 grr its been so long

  • looks like it was really friggin windy. cant wait to see her steam again

  • The girl at 0:30, where was the fire that she had to run in front of the train at the last moment?

  • Made me heart skip a beat when she darted across! Someone should fine her and scold her even now. Love how that other girl jumps with the whistle blow at 1:42.

  • where'd you hear that? its been NKP since it came out of the baldwin shops

  • ur dead wrong there the 587 first ran for the lake erie and western as number 5541. but in 1924 the lake erie and western emerged into the nickle plate road. oh and the tender on her aint the original that tender is also what u would find on the 765. exactly the same

  • no the tender is from a fellow mikado. the 587 tender right now is from a lima nickel plate mikado. a mikado from lima is one from indiana called the nickel plate #624.

  • oh mybad i was told all that.

  • @GoldenCreekValleyRR wrong. The tender she has is actualy from a berkshire. #624 has not been touched for some time.

  • @Kleman09 oh ok. wait... STUPID DVD! this dvd told me it was from a mikado. gosh! friends at itm told me it was from a berk so ya.

  • @Kleman09 Actually, the tender with 624 was switched out in 1955 by the Nickel Plate. The 624 needed an operating tender, and 587 just need a "show tender" for display in Broad Ripple Park. So yes, this IS a mikado tender.

  • @nkp765ful you are correct about the berkshire tender being on 587. The tender belongs to a long scrapped nickel plate berskshire. Not sure of the number, but more than likly it belongs to an s2 class berkshire.

  • I hope they run to Atlanta again...

  • Wow... Atlanta looks so much better on here than it does today.

  • AWSOME ENJINE
