  • Uff, me habría encantado estar ahi, no cabe duda, os noventas fue una década genial para ir a conciertos, y Chicago es la mejor ciudad de E.U.A para disfrutarlos

  • sweet, i was at this show

  • Easily the best video of this song.

  • what is that guitarr she is playing?

  • @Flippaarn I'm like, 90% sure that's a jaguar. if not, a jazzmaster.

  • She looked exactly like Connie Marble from John Water's "Pink Flamingos" here, except for her hair colour of course.

  • Pretty cool to see people moshing to PJ Harvey. Her stuff is so tame nowadays. If you see her 1993 video of "Snake" at the Metro you will see people moshing for pretty much the entire song. I like pretty much all of her work both back then and now, but it was much heavier in the '90s.

  • what a voice!!!!!!

  • @cascarable i liked !!!!!

  • wait, how can you not like this?

I think he was the one doing it on the CD, too, yes, because it was released under the idea of PJ Harvey being a 3 piece band, and he was as entitled to sing as PJ even though he primarily plays drums. The two have a strangely similar voice though.

  • Wooooh

  • best version.

  • Perfection!

  • Fender Jaguar? Now I love PJ even more!

  • this show, this band, this drummer, wow she's on fire but cool as hell

  • lick my legs.......

  • And I've always wAndered why she didn't sing 'I'm gonna twist your head, you see''.... HOLY FUCK!!!

  • this slower version is stunning! incredible performance

  • @EuNoteas Yes, I ADORE this version.

  • You've just been punked...don't it feeel gut

  • Yum.

all songs from this era crazy good. Set her off on the trajectory....

  • i can't believe she performed at the metro. I live in the Chi and were the fuck have I been. I go there every other week and lets just say no PJ Harvey ever sang there yet ,and should be left that way. LOVE U PJ!

  • i love the choros

  • i like it

  • Great video. Thanks. I saw her at Sheffield, this video reminds me how good she is.

  • A little weird having the male drummer do the "lick my legs" part

  • @joeyslaptop he's the one who does it on the cd too...

  • Nice.

  • I was there...

  • PJ is right up there with Bjork, Beth Gibbons, Lisa Papineau all deeply creative women.

  • Merci P.J. d'illuminer le punk comme tu sais si bien le faire... et oui les français qui aiment le bon son sont également fous de toi !

  • omg i forgot how much i like pj! grow up listen four track demos :) love you pj! :)

  • Madonna may be the diva of pop, PJ is the queen of good taste...

  • never seen someone singin guitar in a so sexy way...best greetings from italy

  • Polly John n Rob were pretty tight punk rock band.

  • thanks for the great video. i've got PJ tix at the beacon theater next week, and i'm jumping out of my skin waiting for it! this helped!

  • This is brilliant! 4-track demos is the rawest/greatest album ever!

  • i hear pixies here a bit :). pj's one of a kind.. great stuff

  • in the original record she is actually dubbing the vocals but hands down on the drummer im not shure if it is Robert Ellis not bieng racist but he's whiter lol

  • wow I saw her (one of many times) in the Glasgow Barrowlands, UK on this tour. So cool to see this all these years later.

Thank you, made my day :)

  • She must really LOVE Chrissie Hynde cause you can hear HUGE similarities in voice.

  • I was at this show too...I love her.

  • this is a totally awesome live performance....im totally impressed...ive been to the metro..but i never was graced with seeing p.j. play there...

  • I saw a video of this song from the Tonight Show with an interview with Jay afterward. It's been taken off, probably because Jay and the other guests didn't come off so well in the interview. PJ's performance on that video was amazing. Does anyone know where it can be seen?

  • I don't know but if you find out let me know lol. I had it favourited on here and I'm so mad it's gone because it was definitely the best version out there.

  • Yes, it's so annoying that it's gone! Amazing performance.

  • yeah, jim333333, i used to watch that Tonight Show clip of Rid of Me all the time, too and had noticed it isn't on YouTube anymore. what made that version so great was that it was just Polly singing and her guitar. It was an absolutely mesmerizing and fearless performance - "Lick my legs and i'm on fire"!!! and the interview was entertaining, too, when Harvey talked about growing up on a farm..and castrating sheep. ha ha ha!

  • Oh come on, Polly isnt able to do 2nd voice as on cd.

I think he does a great job!

  • Chill, man.... the drummer's voice is one of the things that make this song so cool and unique! It's art. :-) Way cool how he sounds like he's dying at the end at around 4:00!

  • Yup, and I beleive on the record it is the drummer singing the backing vocals anyway.

  • He actually sings a lot of the (background) high stuff on the albums me thinks...

  • I was at this concert - she rocked out. Seems ages ago....

  • I wish I was her...Damn, what a woman...

  • ^_^

  • She sounds just as good live as she does on her cds! So talented.

  • pj BEST!

  • I met PJ Harvey at Macabes in Santa Monica she played a solo live show back in the 90's after the show me and my girlfriend convinced her manager for us to meet, wow she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on, and she was so sweet. I got her to sign a flyer I had. I have it till this day! One of my favorate posessions!!!!!!

  • how goods the fucking drummer!

  • Fantastic performance!

She's amazing (and incredibly beautiful too)

  • fuckng goose bumps, she is extraordinary

  • She is great!

  • This ROCKS. The song, and PJ Harvey :) This performance of the song is excellent [: I LOVE it O:!

  • yes this song is the song of my love life! things get so deep and high, but the low is so dark were wounds cute hard.....

knowing you'll always have their soul with in you for ever..

    good & bad!

and the only thing you can think of it dont u wish you never met him!!!

  • new anthem!

  • great example of what's so sexy about her: her restraint, in tension w/ the music's emotional drama--very cerebral

  • I was at this concert. This is when I when from liking her to thinking she was awesome.

  • I was at this show. Seeing this concert convinced me she was going to have a long career. Sometimes I am right.

  • Like Dr. Strangelove on BASS !

  • LOL great film btw

  • I like it slow and long once in a while....

  • I like the other version better

  • yes, the one from bog day out.

  • i thought PJ Harvey did that like my legs part ??

  • Are you really worried, or just joking?

    Watch version 48GIaN7SrGU.

  • she does when she plays it solo but Rob Ellis sang it when they used to play it together

  • she does "rid of me" very faster now than before..this version is kind of slow...but still as good as always of course :)

  • go rob!

  • that's MAD!!! How good is Ellis!
