HEY kid VFX doesn't care about debate he is past that and going on to scam artist with his ministries. He will probably be selling videos and packages online if he doesn't already.
As for fossils its a puzzle now thing of the amount of puzzlepieces you got and remember. that its a small part of the puzzle the rest is missing. To reconstruct history is a case of when do you give up. And docters can have it wrong too kid.
We can see that misinterpretation of the bible has caused a rejection of science and a rejection of morals, in many times bloody ways. So the bible gets in the way, its old.
So if the bible is old and so bad at leading us the right way, if there is a god he obviously has a better way to communicate his will than holy scripture.
so throw out the bible and use reason ALONE to find god.
I am an atheist but if there is a god, he doesnt care about the bible
I am an Atheist and I applaude your free thinking. I truely understand that creationist give christians a bad name or other a bad name. Keep thinking for yourself.
I agree ENTIRELY with you my good man. I too have a similar background of attending both a high school and grade school with mandatory religious classes and I am a Christian. Being a biology major I have studied and been tested on the the various components of the theory of evolution.
despite how powerful the facts are there are still SMALL holes in the theory that I believe perfectly fit the hand of God.
its a matter of making your faith conform to the facts or abandoning it. nothing else.
thunderf00t stated in a recent video, these holes tend to get filled by science as technology advances. The question is, will science be able to fill all those holes? & do we want God to be all that science cant explain? So, if you believe god fills a hole, and then in 5 years that hole is filled by science will this affect you view of God? as long as it does NOT affect your views, i think we have a reasoned and logical, well balanced approached to creationism and evolution.
easy: life began in its simplest form. therefore how did life become complex enough to reproduce?
please realize I am well on my 3rd year as a bio major in college. I've asked my professor this and he says "well obviously it started out with that basic bit of complexity". I guess RNA splicing is easy.
of course this "hole" in evolution certainly isnt big enough to fit the creationist concept, but to me its big enough to fit the hand of god in. why should evolution "disprove" god or vice versa?
> how did life become complex enough to reproduce?
Though not being a biology major, I tend to agree with your professor, at least if he means what I think he means. Self-reproduction is part of the definition of life, and vice versa what doesn't reproduce isn't life. It's a bit of a semantics battle, but that particular hole IMHO is not in the theory of evolution, but in abiogenesis.
> why should evolution "disprove" god or vice versa?
I think that's the point that creationists willfully misunderstand, no matter how or how often it's explained to them, because they want their religion and science to be mutually exclusive. What evolution disproves is their particular and literal interpretation of their specific holy text, not the existence of supernatural or, more general, the philosophy of idealism. Most religions have no problems with coexisting with evolution anyways.
On second thought I think there's another hitch in there. By disproving the literal correctness of the book of genesis, science also casts a shadow of doubt on the literal correctness of the whole rest of the book, thus undermining the fundamentalists claim on absolute truth, especially about morality. Maybe that's what drives them so deeply into denial. Science has opened a crack in their world of absolutes and they don't want anybody to slip through that. Just my tired thoughts. ^^
Life is defined (in most forms) by the ability of a given thing to reproduce itself. Abiogenesis (autocatylitic biochemistry) isn't evolution, chemical evolution maybe, but it is not the study of how life changes over time. They are two different theory in the same since that
cont...heliocentricity is not in any way subject to the validity or even plausibility of modern Laplacian theory. If you don't understand why this is so I suggest that you need to read up on the philosophy of science. Also it might help to check out CDK007's videos he researches abiogenesis at an ivy league school, some of the websites that publish for the school even list him in their links. Out of respect I won't say his real name, but if you dig you can find he's legit.
Nice video. But you have realize that 'being on the side of God' is what drives the evils committed in the name of religion. Venomfangx is just another in a long line of people who feel they can do no wrong at all, ever, because they think they are 'doing God's work'.
I find VenomfangX to be detestable, moronic and downright evil person who would love nothing more to usher in a new dark ages where Christianity rules humanity with an iron fist, literally killing off all dissent.
1st point, agreed. i'd like 2 make reference to this in a future video but i dont want to come across as to be a hater of religion because i am not, i belive religion serves a purpose in this world, and i dont belive that religion is for everyone and most defonately should not imposed on ANYONE.. but this raises the question of whther or not i would send my (hypothetical) child to a religious school or not...hmmm am i being imposing, in that situation, am i forcing religion upon my child?
that is exactly what i am trying to portray here, that there is some middle ground. i know donexodus2's videos and im an avid watcher. i appreciate the feed back thankyou
thanks for the feedback, my composure needs a bit of work im new to the whole video thing. but i would like to build this middleground view with the help of like-minded viewers. so keep the comments coming...
i love your points.

Surely you have considered that the 7 days of creation were not a metaphor but were simply WRONG, and stolen from other religions!!!

Actually I think the earth development itself might actually not have taken all so long. Think about it for a while.

what are your criteria for choosing the parts of the bible that you DO believe. How can you choose some and not other parts?

I highly recommend you look up DonExodus2, he is a Christian and does excellent videos on the subject.

You're alright with atheists out there because you don't spew opinionated and vitriolic words of acid.
