Spike being voiced by a woman was no surprise to me. Tara Strong (Twilight's voice actor) was voice of Timmy Turner and Ben Tennyson and they were both young boys.

Basicly the idea for a woman to do a young boy's voice is one reason to keep the show running.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash are the same person (Ashleigh Ball), the same with Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy (Andrea Libman). Rarity is Tabitha St.Germain, the lady voicing Twilight here. She initially does all of Tara Strong's lines along with the rest of the cast in Vancouver before Strong copies Tabitha's recording down in LA. ;)

For God's sake, how much effort does it take to read the comments below you? Twilight Sparkle is voiced by TABITHA ST.GERMAIN (voice of Rarity) in Vancouver so as to help the other actors with timing/expression when recording scenes. Then Tara Strong (who lives in LA) copies Tabitha's lines and dubs her own voice in later on. That's why you can often still hear Tabitha's timing/acting style in Twilight.

Sorry, I'm just getting frustrated that Tabitha's not getting credit where it's due. :(

@march88 Not a dumb question at all - I don't think my last comment was very clear (darn Youtube and their limited characters for video comments!) The lady you see (and hear) in this video IS Tabitha St.Germain - I recognise her face as well as her voice. This video was filmed at Koko Studios in Vancouver where most of the actors record which is why we see them all together. Tara Strong would have dubbed her lines in over Tabitha AFTER this recording session at a studio somewhere down in LA.

@march88 Oh gosh, I guess I'M the dumb one - I just re-read your comment and realised you were talking about the LAUGH and not Twilight in general. xD

And I'd never even noticed, but yes, that laugh DOES sound like Tabitha. Either an accident or Strong couldn't quite hit the "creepy" laugh in the tone they wanted so they figured they'd leave the original in. If you watch some of the G3 MLP movies, Minty (also played by Tabitha) has a similar sound when she laughs (albeit less creepy)!
