  • This is a special song.

  • At the Dar concert I went to she played this song and I almost cried :') it was so beautiful.

  • So beautiful.

  • Wonderful...I wish they did an album together...why not?

  • Thank you once again. I needed this today, pulled it out of my Favorites and had a good cry. Thank you.

  • Really nicely done!! Great pictures to a great song by some great women!!

  • Very beautifully done! Brightened my day -- and I sure needed to smile today. Thanks!

  • @Asehpe - thanks asehpe :D lol i finally respond to one of your comments and it's on a vid on my old account - .... you always leave such thought provoking comments that make me angry with youtubes 500 character limit all over again -- I'm sorry I'm not more responsive on my own threads... some sorta mental block I got goin' there...

  • @FeministWhore, thanks for your opinion! :-) I agree with Divinity, who once said people come to YouTube to read (and I'd add: to write...), not to watch videos... And since I love to discuss (as my recent failed attempt at luring some sense/arguments/facts out of FistfulOfDicks shows...

Keep up the good work, FW. You look like the person who could be interested in writing a whole book about this topic and all its controversies, and a very interesting one at that.

  • Dar is such an excellent storyteller. This folk chic actually made me pick up a guitar and learned a bunch of her songs. Joan Baez is a great harmonizer.

  • yesiam

  • What a FABULOUS set of images to go with this song!

  • I do love this song, so pleasant.

  • POST 2 OF 2

"We're so glad that you finally made it here

You thought nobody cared, but we did, we could tell

And now you'll dance through the days while the orchestra plays

    And oh-oh oh-oh-oh oh-oh, you're aging well."

  • POST 1 OF 2

Well I know a woman with a collection of sticks

She could fight back the hundreds of voices she heard

And she could poke at the greed, she could fend off her need

And with anger she found she could pound every word.

But one voice got through, caught her up by surprise

It said, "Don't hold us back we're the story you tell,"

And no sooner than spoken, a spell had been broken

And the voices before her were trumpets and tympani

Violins, basses and woodwinds and cellos, singing

  • I thought that the girl was Mimi Farnin and Joan Baez..I STILL lOVE IT! I HAVE THE CD OF RING THEM BELLS!!! IT'S SOOO GOOD! SO BEAUTIFUL

  • I've loved this song when I heard it on the

"Ring Them Bells" Cd several years ago.

They sang it together during their touring

    "Newport Folk Festival"

  • i'm so glad someone posted this song - i've been looking for it for a while now... one of my favourites :)

  • ... simply beautiful

  • Liz Phair doesn't sing on this song. If you're like me, you got this back during the mislabled Napster days. :)

    (It's a great song.)

  • I always wondered how accurate that was. Thanks for setting me straight :)

  • Dar and Joan sing beautifully together.
