@showhiminbailey It was. The story line does move very quickly this series. I think they could have made possibly 2 series out of world war one alone. But what with the recession and the enormous filming costs that was never going to happen. Still, there's going to be a series 3 :D

I don't blame any of them, they must have been terrified at no one can compleatley understand the horrors of war without experiecing it themselves.

If you search for DA on the a m a z o n (dot) c o m website, you'll find several one-star reviews, from repressive conservatives, whining about how the homosexual agenda ruined the series for them and their family. Too funny.

I stopped reading so many reviews I enjoyed because they mentioned being disappointed that there was a single gay kiss. Usually it's ignorance more than malevolence, but still...

@elleoneiram, whether the homophobia comes from real malevolence or just plain, abject ignorance, the sad reality is that there's still a great deal of prejudice out there. You'd think that by the year 2011, our society would have evolved past this, although many anti-gays seem to firm;ly reject the idea of evolution! :)

One of the funniest comments about DA I've seen was one railing against its "explicit, hard-core gay pornography", with "graphic, full sex scenes"

For all of you who haven't watched DA yet, Downton Abbey IS NOT a gay show. There is a gay character, yes, but he's not the main one. This show is about the life of a family in the first years of XX century. So please, don't mislead people.

One is gay, one is not and one is too but isn't a recurring character. So no, it's not only a video about Thomas. The problem is that if a person hasn't watched this show, this video gives him a totally wong idea of what's this show about. Simple as that.

Thomas was such an ass. But I still liked his character.. he had his reasons for being a lying thieving alcoholic. I felt so bad for him in this scene, but when the turkish guy slapped him I about died of laughter.
