@jenniferfeliciano66 at least its going on a national tour soon enough ! i'll probably be able to afford it since i don't have to travel to NYC. just sad it won't have Billie :(
Something that was only made more apparent to me after seeing Stark Sands. While Stark is good, there's something forced about his tone that just reminds me of a bad imitation of Caplan's natural voice.
I thought this was great...until the switch back to Before the Lobotamy. They totally butchered it the 2nd time. Before the Lobotamy is one of the most tender heartfelt songs Green Day has ever done, and those guys just made it sound overdone and whiny. Billie Joe does that one better for sure. Just my opinion. Love both songs, love the band. c:
for anyone that thinks this is stark sands it is not, This is Matt Caplan of rent fame from the Berkeley rep run of the musical. His voice is amazing. I wonder why he didn't go on to the broadway version. Stark Is still amazing as well though.
I've always wanted to hear extraordinary girl as a duet...I'm watching the musical on June 1rst but I just wanted to hear this one in advanced...whatshername is amazing!
@MikeSearle123 There are four parts. The song starts with Tunny (played by Stark Sands on Broadway, and Matt Caplan in this recording), then Chase Peacock's ensemble track, then Favorite Son (Wallace Smith on Broadway, Josh Henry in this recording), then Ben Thompson's ensemble track. Hope this helps =)
I want to go to American Idiot so badly :')

God, Caplan's voice is perfect for the role.

Stark is better

Matt was good and he did originate the role, but I think Stark's singing on 21 Guns is WAY better than Matt's.

Hmm..... his voice isn't right for Before the Lobotomy, imo. Some of the male cast could have been picked better.

True. But I feel like the actors in this are just doing it cuz it's another show to do and they have to make money.
