Voss is a great player but in all honestly he is only a 'goldenboy' at brisbane and doesnt deserve coach. He has made far too many mistakes already and they have really costed brisbane.
@backspace3111 No, Fremantle supporter. I was just saying Voss is just starting out as a coach. He's only learning so obviously he's going to make a few mistakes. I think if you give him more time, he'll mature and perhaps become a great coach. Maybe... it's too early to tell.
@LeroyRifkin He has been in the coaching role for 3 years now and his contract is up. Im sure he could most definitely grow into a good coach but history tells us that great players generally make bad coaches and bad players generally make good coaches (thats not always that case, look at leigh mathews).
personally i dont think he will ever make a 'GREAT' coach, but im sure he could make a good coach. Just at the moment he isn't exactly helping his case
@backspace3111 Yeah sorry I didn't realise he's been in the position for three years now. It seems like only yesterday he's was playing for brisbane. But I still think it's too early to be saying he doesn't deserve to be coach.
@LeroyRifkin Fair enough. Again, i think he could make a good coach, but he needs help. I read in a newspaper an interview with him about his coaching position and that changed my view on his coaching a lot and i know he realises his mistakes and how coasting they were, but i just wonder if he could ever be more than what he is.
The problem is his mistakes, not his coaching. After a certain amount of time you cant do any more and you have to leave it up to the players to do the work.
They had the records in the paper today: 80m, Malcolm Blight, 1976; 85m, Ben Graham, 1999; 86.5m, Harry "Soap" Vallence, 1933; 98.5m, Albert Thurgood, 1899; 105.5m, Fred Fanning, 1939.
I was at that game, behind the posts Fletcher was kicking at. It was a huge bomb, he probably kicked it from much further out than Voss - from memory he kicked from the Centre square. What made it more impressive was the fact that the ball carried a couple of rows back - however, it was at the Telstra Dome with the roof closed.
Once again game in the balance and Voss does something special. Whether it's kicking goals from outside 50, or copping heavy hits for his team, Voss is the greatest, can do anything, not like Buckley who can get goals from outside 50 (sometimes), but never does it when they need it, and certainly doesn't put his body on the line.
malcolms right the gabba is smaller than optus oval because scg and the gabba are the smallest grounds
collingwoodrules 3 months ago
@collingwoodrules The Gabba is only 4 metres shorter than the MCG. The SCG is the only ground that is meaningfully shorter than the rest.
