It only applies to businesses or if YOU sell something to a business. :) lol So your food does not count unless you are the one selling food to a business. That means if you use the food you buy in a tax deduction you will need to get a 1099 from the company you purchased it from.

The €2,000bn estimate is based on data compiled by the Bank of International Settlements, the International Monetary Fund, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the World Bank. It differs from earlier estimates in that it includes not only foreign bank exposure to Greek, Portuguese and Spanish debt, but the exposures of other institutions such as insurance companies and pension funds.

When I moved to Japan, I opened up my first bank account with a cashiers check from a major east coast bank.

Hey I got an idea! How about everyone get prepared and stocked up. And then right when this goes into effect nobody buy or sell a damn thing and lay out from work for a month. Bring these bastards to their knees!
That would work it has been held up in court but you have to be 100% in US coins with intrinsic value. If you so much as convert 600 FRNs in a year you must report it.
This is so outrageous you might as well not even bother getting up in the morning, stop paying your taxes, what are they going to do shoot your ass. probably.
You either wake up to the clown show now or latter.
@prepare2008 brokers are already restricted by other capital control laws that just came into effect, report everything, 30% taxation to US gov't, jail time or huge fines for non-compliance.
Is this really a bad thing? I think that it will have the opposite affect and wake up the American people. The underground market will expand and the corruption will explode. The government will be unable to enforce it against the amount of people who will ignore it. Almost like the drug war on steroids because they are going after educated people at this point. Most of the country will probably be unified in their dissent. What do you think? Would love to hear some opinions?
@BOBSMOKETV I agree. With the economy collapsing or having collapsed by 2012 and many people ignoring it, I doubt that it will be enforceable as Washington will be a paper tiger by then.
Yes but your vendors will not. Apmex will be sending you a 1099 once you sell you gold and silver even if you send in small amount at a time because its 600 for the year.
Do you think this is a law in order to make money paperless...
Imagine, if we use a "credit card" as money and for purchases, it will go to a data bank and we'll be able to retrieve the 1099 information more esily.
Yes that would be the plan. This way if you are an activist watching my videos you are shut off due to a computer error they just can't fix right way.
If you convert it to FRNs then you have to pay taxes buy law. Also if you value it as FRNs for credit accounts they can pinch you for that as well. So If you get paid $100 a week in gold coins you have to say you make $100 a week on you credit applications.
This is how people got pinched for providing the tax man with one number and banks with another. Just so you know the government and the banks are the same people, different branch. ;)
You can avoid the 1099 B form if you buy numismatic coins. Numismatic is anything with a premium over 15% or minted prior to 1933. If you get the low end numismatic coins the premiums are not ridiculous and there are no reporting requirements when buying or selling. I heart tax loopholes.
When that goes into affect people will not sell any gold over 1/2 ounce trying to buy one coin at a time from multiple dealers. Silver will begin to be sold to reach levels just under $600. Prior to the law gold will sell after silver will be sold more in the small quantaties.
This is for anything over $600 sold past the date of 1/1/12, right? Thing is, who can say what $600 will even buy by that time (what "value" it carries), for all we know a bag of groceries might cost that much. Also, it depends on what kind of gov't structure is in place (if much/any) to even issue let alone process such bureaucratic paperwork. This combined with "Obama care" and this country is seriously messed up. : (
Davincij15, you make it sound like people report these payments in their personal affairs. This filing requirement is for businesses only. Now, online orders to a business like APMEX, if you order by credit card, may have to report your purchase on a 1099K - new requirement. But the requirements to file 1099MISC are for payments during the conduct of a business, not personal expenditures.
You will receive money from Apmex for selling your gold and silver you will get a 1099. If you write things off in a business you need to send out 1099s. Example I fix my car and it cost over $600 in a year 1099. You go the Walmart to get office supplies you need to send walmart a 1099.
As a tax preparer by profession - I get it. Your 2nd sentence of the video said "So if you're buying from APMEX you have to 1099 them..." That would only be true if you were purchasing from APMEX in a business capacity. As far as selling to a dealer, you are correct.
I give you $600 because I am a nice guy and I send you a 1099 form so you can pay taxes to the Federal Reserve. The government needs that money to pay the interest on the debt.
A form 1099-MISC is an information report that formerly reported to the IRS Nonemployee compensation (sub-contract work), royalties, Other income, in addition to several other categories. It is prepared on an annual basis due to recipient by late January/early Feb. The Health care bill adds Corporations & is not limited to just services provided to a business. This will increase tax compliance work many fold in tracking & reporting expenses.
Although I agree with the sentiment when the government often oversteps its bounds, the fine for failure to file information reports (1099) is as much as $100/1099. If you are the one hit with this penalty, you care.
It's simple if you receive more than $600 in a year for anything the person giving you the FRN (dollars) must 1099 you. So you go to the store to sell your xbox 360 with all your games and get $600 PLUS a 1099 so you can pay taxes on that $600.
LOL
In short Americans are FORKED they are done put a fork in them.
@davincij15 So they are trying to tax you for selling a used or resale item which was subject to tax when originally purchased. So a double tax?
The filthy government tried to do this here in Toronto, Canada for people having garage/yard sales. Are they nuts? People already paid the provincial & Goods & services tax & now they want more off the pennies one makes on the junk they sell. People never accepted it. I suggest people in the U.S. tell Uncle Sam where to put it. Don't comply!
@D33Lux that news didn't make it to where I am (not far away). No one's tried to do this in my city. Much less that people also gift things to each other with something called "freecycle" which also tracks if you are always looking but never offering and won't let you participate until you trade something off too. No cash therefore not a sale.
Citizenship in Iceland only costs 2,000 dollars. That sounds pretty good right about now considering all of these illegal changes the U.S. is going through.
@lorenzo8500 That's probably why Iceland's economy was attacked, so that people here didn't get the funny idea that moving there was a smarter plan than having their freedoms ripped away.
I'm going to stand my ground.
learn to make medicines, store food and gold, make traps and bombs and one-shot guns that can be computer/remote controlled.
Make this a hard damn fight for tyranny to defeat us.
You don't need a 1099 for any amount of US legal tender coin sales only bullion that is not legal tender will you receive a 1099 and only when you sell more than $10,000 after Jan 1, 2012 it's over $600 FOR ALL TRANSACTIONS. LOL
True. We can only laugh at the insanity. But by then the IRS will be assimilated into the North American Domestic Surveillance network (NADS). All will fear a letter from the NADS. Or a visit from the NADS. Generally, the NADS will be intrusive, and unpleasant. You get the idea. Thanks for the heads up.
LOL.. if this is true.. if this is really what the "law" states.. that any transaction over $600 requires a 1099 to be completed and submitted to the Fed.. if this is actually what it says.. this would be HUGE for silver!!! I'll "trade" you this silver for that cow that normally would "cost" $600 FRN's. Done.. no form :)
@BugsMr123 no it's not. I've been asking, both banks and tax preparations. No such situation. The SALE of bullion for cash can be taxed as capital gains but the TRADE right now of bullion for an asset means you merely claim, if needed, the "value" of that asset. Another trick: no one ever cares or claims value of things like a new bike or a lawnmower or something; and if you claim a car it depreciates upon use of it so the capital gains is low/none while the purchase-at-time value is good
We really need to point and laugh at these inbred morons who are trying soooo hard to keep up the illusion that they are "in charge". Laugh at, point at, and show them rope.
The U.S. government is so desperate for tax revenue that they will do anything and everything they can to squeeze the life out of the population. All I have to say is that they best arm the IRS agents before sending them out to repo property in the name of Uncle Sam. You couldn't pay me enough to become an IRS agent assigned the duty of collecting on a poor, broke S.O.B. who didn't report selling his silver on Craigslist so his kids can eat.

You have four choices:
1) Leave the country to sell silver
2) Live in the U.S., but never sell your silver ( unless you plan to make an important purchase and keep the rest of the silver)
3) Live in a very small town where the cost of living is very small, so it wouldn't matter if they taxed your silver
4) Sell on the black market free of te governments eyes, which would be easy if you bought your silver before Jan. 1 2012
Please add more ideas and rate up comment

That would work it has been held up in court but you have to be 100% in US coins with intrinsic value. If you so much as convert 600 FRNs in a year you must report it.

BOBSMOKETV 1 year ago
@BOBSMOKETV I agree. With the economy collapsing or having collapsed by 2012 and many people ignoring it, I doubt that it will be enforceable as Washington will be a paper tiger by then.

Yes but your vendors will not. Apmex will be sending you a 1099 once you sell you gold and silver even if you send in small amount at a time because its 600 for the year.

@davincij15 If I sell any I'll have to do it in person. Its none of their business.

what if you get paid 2 ounces of American gold eagles and count is as $100 dollars?
TheLiberalssuckdick 1 year ago
@TheLiberalssuckdick
Correct.
Just so you know the government and the banks are the same people, different branch. ;)
davincij15 1 year ago
You can avoid the 1099 B form if you buy numismatic coins. Numismatic is anything with a premium over 15% or minted prior to 1933. If you get the low end numismatic coins the premiums are not ridiculous and there are no reporting requirements when buying or selling. I heart tax loopholes.

When that goes into affect people will not sell any gold over 1/2 ounce trying to buy one coin at a time from multiple dealers. Silver will begin to be sold to reach levels just under $600. Prior to the law gold will sell after silver will be sold more in the small quantaties.
cdltpx 1 year ago

1kings1918 1 year ago 2
@1kings1918
You will receive money from Apmex for selling your gold and silver you will get a 1099. If you write things off in a business you need to send out 1099s. Example I fix my car and it cost over $600 in a year 1099. You go the Walmart to get office supplies you need to send walmart a 1099.
Get it?
davincij15 1 year ago
@davincij15
As a tax preparer by profession - I get it. Your 2nd sentence of the video said "So if you're buying from APMEX you have to 1099 them..." That would only be true if you were purchasing from APMEX in a business capacity. As far as selling to a dealer, you are correct.

Luiyi385 1 year ago
@Luiyi385
I give you $600 because I am a nice guy and I send you a 1099 form so you can pay taxes to the Federal Reserve. The government needs that money to pay the interest on the debt.
davincij15 1 year ago
@Luiyi385
1kings1918 1 year ago

vdubs4life1964 1 year ago 3
@vdubs4life1964
Although I agree with the sentiment when the government often oversteps its bounds, the fine for failure to file information reports (1099) is as much as $100/1099. If you are the one hit with this penalty, you care.
1kings1918 1 year ago
ridiculous, stupid law created from thin air , just like their fake money that noone will follow
GovWillKillU 1 year ago
@cbocquee
It's simple if you receive more than $600 in a year for anything the person giving you the FRN (dollars) must 1099 you. So you go to the store to sell your xbox 360 with all your games and get $600 PLUS a 1099 so you can pay taxes on that $600.
LOL
In short Americans are FORKED they are done put a fork in them.
davincij15 1 year ago
@davincij15 So they are trying to tax you for selling a used or resale item which was subject to tax when originally purchased. So a double tax?
The filthy government tried to do this here in Toronto, Canada for people having garage/yard sales. Are they nuts? People already paid the provincial & Goods & services tax & now they want more off the pennies one makes on the junk they sell. People never accepted it. I suggest people in the U.S. tell Uncle Sam where to put it. Don't comply!
D33Lux 1 year ago
@D33Lux that news didn't make it to where I am (not far away). No one's tried to do this in my city. Much less that people also gift things to each other with something called "freecycle" which also tracks if you are always looking but never offering and won't let you participate until you trade something off too. No cash therefore not a sale.

You don't need a 1099 for any amount of US legal tender coin sales only bullion that is not legal tender will you receive a 1099 and only when you sell more than $10,000 after Jan 1, 2012 it's over $600 FOR ALL TRANSACTIONS. LOL
In other words YOUR FUCKED. LOL
davincij15 1 year ago
True. We can only laugh at the insanity. But by then the IRS will be assimilated into the North American Domestic Surveillance network (NADS). All will fear a letter from the NADS. Or a visit from the NADS. Generally, the NADS will be intrusive, and unpleasant. You get the idea. Thanks for the heads up.
mike29571 1 year ago
LOL.. if this is true.. if this is really what the "law" states.. that any transaction over $600 requires a 1099 to be completed and submitted to the Fed.. if this is actually what it says.. this would be HUGE for silver!!! I'll "trade" you this silver for that cow that normally would "cost" $600 FRN's. Done.. no form :)

Currency controls for the USA.
If you buy from a Canadian bank, it's the same deal.
BugsMr123 1 year ago
@BugsMr123 no it's not. I've been asking, both banks and tax preparations. No such situation. The SALE of bullion for cash can be taxed as capital gains but the TRADE right now of bullion for an asset means you merely claim, if needed, the "value" of that asset. Another trick: no one ever cares or claims value of things like a new bike or a lawnmower or something; and if you claim a car it depreciates upon use of it so the capital gains is low/none while the purchase-at-time value is good

The U.S. government is so desperate for tax revenue that they will do anything and everything they can to squeeze the life out of the population.
