@tourental Yea I guess I was disappointed because they wrote Shogun a year and a half after The Crusade. They wrote In Waves THREE years after Shogun. I was expecting Shattering The Skies Above times three and it didn't touch Shattering. That and it wasn't as interesting to listen to. The solo's weren't amazing. I know they said it was going to be less progressive but I didn't think it was going to be any less heavy or simplistic. This is my opinion of course. I don't mean to step on toes.

Damn.I wasnt a fan of Trivium until Shogun.Its a masterpeice.And chorus riff and vocals together are probably in my top 5 heaviest moments in music.Trivium has really hit the spot with this album.
