The slim, although more affordable, is an ugly little hunk of shit. The original PS3 made it's presence as a gaming machine known. It took up so much space it was impossible to ignore. The slim looks stupid too. I like the glossy finish on my 80 gig. Plus, I can just put a 120GB(or bigger) in my current PS3 and have the same thing. And no, the description is wrong. Sony won't win the console wars. No one has held the reigns for three generations. This generation, it might go back to Nintendo.

hdmi cable must its sold separately and rca cables are regular a-v cables-.

rca cables work on reg TVs. hdmi cables are seperate and only use for hdmi monitor or HDTVs. hdmi cables is needed because on an HDTV, you will sense a controller lag meaning u push one button and a second later it registers. HDMI cables will fix this on HDTVs

It is as cheap as it is because the Sony's manufacturing department found a way to cut cost without undermining the system. And being that Blue Ray is the new standard for High definition movies, over time, the parts become cheaper for the Blue Ray drive.

You've got to be kidding, I mean I'm definitely a PS3 guy but I don't kid myself, when it comes to gaming quality PC's wins hands down. Consoles are limited by the hardware they are made up of whereas PC's are easily upgradeable so developers aren't held back (to a certain degree of course) with PC's .

smart, i agree and disagree, first off you can use a PS3 or xbox controller on a PC, also it depends on what games when you speak of Mouse and keyboard being better respectivly.There is just no way in HELL a controller is better than a mouse and keyboard when it comes to FPS. you will get owned. the controller isnt fast enough for games like that.Any PC gamer will agree 110% i tried Crysis with the 360 controller the other day and it was terrible...

I CAME seriously! i got already my old PS3 with 80 gygabytes hardrive and it rocks! 2 years and i never had any problems with this awesome system, now PS3 SLIM looks awesome, thin more hard drive space, and save a huge amount of light almost 40 % !!! i want this now !!!!! oh and my PSP go for Christmas 4 sho! PD. not a fanboy i ad already a xbox 360 was good but PS3 is far better, and finally im a hardcore PC gamer ! l8rs!

I am by no means a Sony fanboy, I own all the latest consoles and alot of older ones too. At $299, this is a wonderful value right out of the box. The wireless adapter, the ability to play Blu-Ray and the ability to upgrade the HDD to your liking is what sets this console apart. Even though it only has 2 USB ports, you can use a USB HUB to make more connections. Even though the new PS3 does not come with a memory card reader, you can add one via USB. All in all, the PS3 "Slim" is the full featured PS3 minus the memory card readers, 2 extra USB ports, and the all sexy touch sensitive button. :-) PS3 went on a diet and its looking sexy as ever.

This is by far the best deal ever. No one should never complain about it costing to much because it is the cheapest Blue Ray player on the market or one of the cheapest. Plus it is the cheapest next gen gaming console on the market with NO compromise for its design. If one were to compare the Xbox 360 120 gig and the PS3 Slim ( which has 120 gig of Hard Drive), the PS3 Slim is of better value because of its cheaper price tag and better value.
