His book sent me vegi. But you will never be able to convince the majority of the people in the west. If you think the we still live in a world that people actively want to save, your sadly mistaken.
Jonathan is incredibly well spoken and pleasant to listen to. His novels are some of the most beautiful writing I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I just ordered this book and I'm curious in which it will challenge my lifestyle. Though I'm pretty sure I won't stop eating meat all together, I can already see that I will probably be changing some habits.
i know it has started many. i still haven't swayed everyone i've discussed this book with, (there are some people who absolutely refuse to make any sort of change in their lifestyle no matter how important it is) but i've been doing what i can to get people to start thinking about what they're contributing to every time they purchase an animal product. thanks foer.
Where exactly did Jonathon Safran Foer see these cattle? Texas is where most cattle in U.S. come from. I have lived in Tx all my life. I grew up on one of the largest cattle ranches here. We had 8000 cattle. It was pasture land, trees, windmills. Nice place for a cow. Every rancher I have ever seen raises their cattle on pasture land. You know wheat & grass.
So the fact that cattle are raised in horrible environment 99% of the time, is stupid & ludicrous

Even if all animals were treated humanely before, up to, and during their slaughter, people would still complain. Oh well.

If you don't want to buy the book, it's at the library. Very interesting book - things we should know about the food we choose to eat.

Amazing. The world should preach words so beautifully spoken like these.
