I'll never understand why everyone likes this ride so much. I think Pooh's is so much better. Of course, Pooh's ride never mentally scarred me as a child. >>
From a technological standpoint, Pooh is the better ride (not surprising since were comparing a ride from 1971 to one from 1999). Aesthetically, however, I think Toad provided a much more rewarding experience. Unlike Pooh or most other rides based on movies, Toad didnt merely recapitulate the story it was based on. Instead it was an extension to the story, like a missing scene. It was also much more stylized and abstract, qualities that were exhilarating and left room for interpretation.
If you only experienced the ride with your eyes closed, then are you really in a position to comment on its quality? It seems to me that you'll never understand the ride's appeal because you aren't interested in understanding.
Is this ride going to be in the new Fantasy Land expansion at Disney World?

@baaker1 Actually Disneyland Paris has a toad hall dining hall, but not the ride itself.

No, I can't really understand the ride's appeal because my only experience with it resulted in it scaring the crap out of me ^^;
