  • Listen at how high the voices are pitched, especially Phil's voice. They can make any song sound great.

  • I actualy prefer this to Little Richard's version. A touch of bass would have made it perfect

  • Thank you for posting....the whole clip was taken off You tube!

  • I didn;t know, that they were in the Marines. Sempi Fi to them Roger USMC

  • funny, a good song and performed in their own style... interesting!

  • The Everleys version of this song is by far the best.

  • They are the best harmonized duet.

  • @Freddie9384

    Indeed, they are.

  • W roch'n roll 60s

  • sounds like pretty woman at the start

  • Love the Everly Brothers, thanks for posting.

  • Isn't this a Little Richard song?

  • Yep - it is Little Richard who wrote this - and performed it the best!

  • The song was a hit and first performed by Little Richard. It was composed by Albert Collins and Little Richard. The Everly Brothers were simply performing it here as part of a group of songs on a TV appearance. They were never associated with the song as Little Richard was.

  • @Waldo99 Actually, the Everlys had a sizeable chart hit with this in 1960, the flip of "So Sad".

  • @lhcarter yea it definitely is! they stole it!

  • Puxa vida! Eles gravaram esta canção antes de Little Richard?

    Eram realmente fenomenais!

  • Great. Only bettered by Roy Orbison.

    I love the Everlys.

  • what year was this???? 1963???

  • You'd be shocked to know the huge names in rock who idolized these guys. Great talents.

  • If you ever get a chance to hear the original recording of Lucille by the Brothers, the intro guitar figure was done by eight different Nashville acoustic guitarists - phenomenal sound. Also the solo in the middle and the outro are pedal steel solos by Buddy Emmons. Get a copy of 'It's Everly Time' to hear the first truly hi-fi pop album.

  • Chuck Berry - who knew something about guitar picking - loved the guitar work of these two young fellows.

  • Of course he did because these guys were mentored by the master Chet Atkins and their dad who was also a guitar playing master. Chuck and the Everlies were on the same plain, all great.

  • it sounds like pretty women lenny kravitz

  • This was from before Lenny Kravitz was born. If anything he sounds like them, not the other way around.

  • i know everything about them but i think maybe lenny stole the melodythat was what i meant

  • They class up any song they sing!

  • @pds3939 bull horn, this is little richard's song, have u heard him sing it?

  • @ranmae57 soooo rite tho they totally jackd this song!!!! they really don't compare to little richard's star qualities in fact yu can KISS IT EVERLY BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MsArchangelG Chill~ They are equally wonderful in their own way. Props for Little Richard for writing such a wonderful song!

  • Odd to see both of them playing the guitar. It was normally just one--can't think now if it was Don or Phil.

  • both of them always did

  • Yes, I agree. I was wrong. Haven't seen them for a long while (though I often play their tapes.) Don't know what I was thinking.

  • they always played guitar together. Look at all the other clips!

  • Always matching guitars.
