I've got a question (it's probably a very simple one), but how do you record vocals without letting it peak and creating those nasty ear-piercing bits? Is it in setting the Microphone input volume to be lower? But would that just decrease the volume of the recording as a whole? I tried having the singer step further back but that didn't turn out well, and I see that the singer sings right into the mic in most videos. How do you control for that?

When you make backup vocals, u record one track with your singing and then copy it in the program? Or u record as many tracks of the same melody as u need?
